Halloween Bot's name when she/it was a criminal: Serejin
Her/its crime, or what she/it was accused of if she/it's innocent: Leelue (Serejin) was picked up on an android based planet, scrapping and stealing androids. That's the short story.
The long story is that there is a system of four planets (three inhabited intelligently) in a solar system many many many light years away from Gaia. Each of those planets is farther away from any of the others than we here in the milky way are used to *assumption that Gaia can be considered milky way*, and therefore it was quite a while before the inhabitants of each planet got to know each other. Durring that time two of the three inhabited planets underwent climate changes and became uninhabitable. One of these planets was close to the only planet in the solar system that didn't currently have a species living on it. They developed a rudimentary form of space travel and managed to move enough 'people' to the new planet to keep thier species going. The second of the dying planets was not so lucky and only managed to survive by adapting mechanical means into their lives in order to continue breathing and living and so forth. Over many generations this particular species became more and more dependant on mechanics, and it wasn't too long before the inhabitants could be considered more 'android' than anything else. They were even 'building' children to propogate the species because they could no longer have any offspring of their own. Now, back tracking a little, the third planet was also struggling now, because of a genetic plague that had traveled through their ranks. The population was severely diminished, the work force became almost nonexistant, and people began to suffer through an economic depression the likes of which Gaia (earth) has never seen.
It is from this third planet that Serejin originaly comes from.
The planet's name is Driddia, and the people on it suffer. In this day and age there is almost no way to make money or carry on living a normal life. If you have money, then others beg for it, if you don't have money then you're out there begging for it. Really, the only way to ensure domestic stabillity and good health is to make sure that you have something the others need and can't get anywhere else.
Imagine then, that you can travel to a planet in a small spaceship with several other 'scrappers', and once you get to this planet you can pick up some of the smaller robots there and put them into the cargo bay for storage. Then once the cargo bay is full, you can safely get back into the ship *as long as you weren't seen* and drive back to your own planet where your mom and sister live... where you live. The dockmen take you into a side room and pay you 1000 palks for every little robot body that you've brought back. The robots will be shurt down, and removed into parts so that the sick people here on your planet can have metal lungs that never get sores or collapse... metal hearts that never miss a beat or rust... metal legs to make them stand up again and keep them all alive.
Your own Mum has a metal heart. It came from a robot with a green head and red body... did it have a name? of course not. It's just a stupid robot.
And that's just what Serejin told the big robots that caught her this time... it's just a bunch of stupid robots.
What better way to hurt a racist person... than to change them into the race they hate?
Her/its backstory or outline: Serejin was picked up at the tender age of 28, and arrested for 'scrapping' robots. To her dire misfortune the father of one of the stolen android childern was her prosecutor, and with the escape of the ship that held his son and the other android children, he came down very hard on Serejin. It didn't help that her mouth just kept running and she said every racist thing that came to her mind. She was sentanced to rehabilitation on gaia after MUCH deliberation by the ruling factors on the Android planet. Driddia (home planet) wanted nothing to do with her, for that would be admitting blame, and the people were torn between killing her and keeping her locked up for life.
It was actually an android child that came up with the basic sentance, which the older androids then made into a full sentace. Change the young woman into an andorid. Make her understand what she'd done... and better yet, put her on a planet where the main living body was human *or humanoid* so she'd be forced to feel the difference. Don't let her feel, or emote... don't let her taste or laugh. Give her all the desires to do so, and the mental state to understand the concepts, but take away the liberty.
Some people argued that this was too harsh... after all, the androids on the prosecuting planet still had many human qualities to them. Some of the older andriods even had some of their human organs left... But in the end it was decided. Life and a chance at rehabilitation, whereas the android children that were taken for spare parts would have no such chances.
They aimed the pod at Gaia, in the hopes that the many diversities there would give the newly robotic girl a chance to long for many many diffrent experiences. They branded the outside of the pod "Leelue" which meant understanding on Serejin's home world, and sent it on it's way. The distance between Gaia and Leelue's original starsystem was so great that it has taken her this long to get here.
Now the girl has so much to learn, and so little time to learn it.
