I would use a jinx or hex. Like the leglocker or full body bind. That way, the person wouldn't actually be in pain. If I had to kill someone I would use Avada Kedavra (sorry if I spelt that wrong) because then the person wouldn't feel any pain also. They would just see a flash of green light and before they know what is happening to them, they would be dead. I would NEVER use a love potion. Remember what happened to Ron when he got that one in those cakes? It would just be freaky to have this person be obbsessed with you like that.

I would use a hex, Sectum Sempra, blood, lots of blood, I like blood, it tastes good... and no I am not a vampire, which are horribly displayed in movies. As an added bonus of this hex, I can watch the person writhe in pain as they realize that they WILL die!

As for the original topic, the choice of "love potion" really struck home with me.
It is truly the most cruel. If I was pissed with someone, I'd want them to suffer and be at my mercy (mind control is too easy; they need to fight it with passion). I'd want them to suffer in the most painful ways possible. If you've read Rhysenn's "Irresistible Poison" you may know what I mean.
Unrequited love is cliche' for a reason- it resonates fear, pain, and empathy in everyone...
If my chosen person were to just accepted their fate, gave up without much of a fight, I think I would then just want them dead. Whether out of pity, or anger, or something else I can't/won't define within me.
On a lighter note, however, love potions could be used to cause minor havoc within an given community just for fun, like magic mistletoe and such... ^^
And that's why a love potion would be my number one choice for inducing chaos- In any reality.
