Maybe it's horrible of me to think this way, but I'd rather them suffer for life behind bars getting butt raped then giving them an early death to escape it. I think they should have to think about it, and live with that guilt, for the rest of their natural lives. And besides, I agree, that by killing prisoners, where sanctioning that it is okay to murder so long the goverment syas so. But anybody else who does it? They get killed?
And anyways, I don't think crime is any less in any state that does have the death penalty vs. a state that doesn't. Does anybody know the statistic on that?

Okay, all. I understand your discussion on the disagreement, but think of it this way..
If someone, supposedly..
..Let's just say, killed your father and your mother and he was caught.
You'd want him to die, wouldn't you? The death penalty does that. Though, if the death penalty is not called, he still might get life in prison, but I wouldn't think that'd be good enough.
But, that's just me.

personallly I think that death is viable in certain haneous crimes but not just simple ones or payback.... an eye for an eye I guess

I don't exactly disagree with the death penalty. if one was a serial homicidal maniac, i do think it would be better. no point in letting a murderer let out. But at the same time, they could just be locked up in jail for life, but it doesn't seem fair that the one that killed, lives, and the victim, dead...

If someone, supposedly.. ..Let's just say, killed your father and your mother and he was caught. You'd want him to die, wouldn't you?... Of course I'd like to see him die, but I have to put my trust into the court, also I'd rather drive him mad by visiting him regularly and confronting him with his murder until I think he has paid enough for it, either the murderer commits suicide or admits to be a*****e enough...

Actually, a lot of times the victim's family doesn't want the death penalty. The U.S. judicial system is supposed to be about justice, not revenge, crime and punishment, not an eye for an eye. Killing the killer makes the legal system and therefore every citizen complacent in another murder. Murder is murder, whether by a madman acting alone or a group of government officials. The judicial system is supposed to punish and reform, not condemn and murder. Killing the criminal will not bring anyone else back. It's a fruitless act of cold-blooded revenge and nothing more.

i don't care what anyone says some people deserve to die im sort of for the death penalty but in a weird way i think the way it's being caried out is to slow most people die before they ever even get the needle put in. i think there needs to be a faster system and i think murderers should not be the only ones put to death. anyone who has done something to seriously hurt a child in any way and anyone who has hurt someone emotionally ie rape needs to be put down along with any criminal who is seriously dangerous to others as for murders i think if it's asingle murder depending on who u kill u should be sentenced to life on death row but not be put to death i've done extensive research on death row and it's a pure hellhole way worse than normal prisons. if you are a serial killer u need to be put down. u also have to think about this when a criminal is sentenced to life in jail it is ur taax dollars keeping him alive i can uderstand if u want him to suffer but do u want to put money into someone who is a killer pay for his food and clothing room and board. something to think about

I think New Zealand should have the death pently.
There was this guy who murder two people while high on the drug p and he only got life in prison.
Now here is the bad thing:
Its better to be in prison than out of it. They have sky(cable) and everything they want, while people on the outside are struggling.
