My school has used the same salute since before anbody can remember. Im trying out for drum major in a month or two and I've been practicing it.
We do *step step step both hands out to your sides palms flat and down. Put your arms in front of you (snapping of course) and then right hand salut left on your hip*

In my band, our salutes are all military... but we air drumajors all do something different for their own salute... Some like to do sunsetsinto salutes, others helicopters during, but I like the good ol' rainbow. Flashy enough, yet simple. And I'm the only drum major in the band...

2 years ago our theme was Jazz so our DM did something with a top hat. This past season she just did her arms crosed in front of her then saluted. I don't think I'm going to be DM this year so I never worried about salutes but after reading this I think it'd be fun just to mess around. mrgreen

lol i found a dm clinic website, dont' ask me cuz i don't remember, but there was this one guy that snapped out his right hand, did a circle from the elbow, saluted at his chest, looked down cuz that's not where his hand wuz supposed 2 be, pulled it up with his left hand, put his left hand by his waist, and pulled his right hand down
