Hi! I've been into hair dye for a long time. I adore seeing funk colors in people's hair and I love dying people's hair. Now that that's out of the way... I have side bangs dyed black (All I ever hear is how emo I look, but I think it looks good sweatdrop ). I've been thinking that something was missing from the whole look. I decided that, just to balance it out, I would cut my bangs on the other side and bleach them. Really, I'm VERY cautious about doing this, so I was just wondering what this guild thinks of the idea. I'm sorry, I don't have any pictures, but I have wavy strawberry-blond hair and fair skin. Naturally, everyone has different ideas about what looks good and what doesn't, but (Of course) I love EGL, and I want a hair style that would look good with the fashion. Thanks everyone! UPDATE!!! I got it dyed a little bit differently than I had planned. I got the middle layer of my hair bleached so you can only see it when my hair is backcombed.

Well.. I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean. It sounds all funk and asymetrical and oddly coloured though so it gets points from me. Then again I have very strange taste in hair. Personally I think it sounds like a fun idea but I'm not sure how loli it would be. It's like I always say: it's just hair, it'll grow back.
Please don't go out and do something drastic to your hair and hate me later cause I told you to do it. *giggles*

the thing is, it sounds cool and all...but i have dark strawberry blonde hair, 1. it came out bright yellow...2. if you have black dye in your hair, it's going to turn out disaterous (sp?). i had temp red hair dye in my hair, then i bleached the ends and it went vibrant red. it was awesome, but i serioulsy can't imagine whats going to happen if you bleach over black...it can either turn out great, go green or go blue/purple...you might want to ask a hairdresser for some pointers ^^

I have darker red hair (by dye, not naturally sweatdrop ) and I put a white stripe from the part in my hair to the tip in the front framing my face. It looks fan-tabulous, I suggest you go for the white highlights.

I worry about bleaching wavy hair--especially more than once. The frizz becomes far beyond too unbearable, particularly if you're one who tends to straighen her hair (because straight/curly hair more often then not looks better with EGL/A than "wavy"). I'm just concerned about damage that could ruin everything.
If you do, get a hot oil treatment.
As for how it would look; it's really hard to say, now knowing what your face structure is and what not.
Hope that helped...?

bleaching over black should be just fine if it's just a chunk, not the whole thing. if you try doing all over bleach over black dye it IS disaterous. Unfortunately I speak from experience. Just use good bleach. Might take two applications though...

Hope that helped...? Would I have to bleach it more than once to get it light enough? sweatdrop
