I find amethyst, rose quartz, moonstone and jade are all working stones for me. I wear them and give them purpose. Smaller stones are a lot easier to hide in a pocket, but I dont' have many of those. Most of mine are pebble sized or larger and I have one shaft of quartz that I took from a mine up the highway that's about a foot long. I dont' know what to DO with it yet though. It's just kinda sitting around in my front window absorbing sunlight.

o.O I would kill for a piece of quartz that large!!! ^^ I've always adored quartz- the funkier the piece, the more I love it. I have a smoky rutilated (sp?) piece thats a foggy white with dark streaks piercing it. heart

Our smokey quartz took a dive off the window ledge and kinda broke. sweatdrop My fault that. Stupid window-blind. My hubby is very fond of it and it helps me with headaches after work. I find that i pick up some negative energy from people while i'm reading and the smoky quartz helps to absorb it from me. Hubby der bought me a jade necklace a couple of weeks ago and I find it's great for money.

Spiff- I'd always heard jade was great for money, but never had anyone confirm that for me.
And sadness over the quartz. I almost bought a few new pieces of it yesterday, but choose to use that money instead for an athame (since I've never had one).

My first athame was and still is a letter opener I converted. It had a creepy skull and snake design on it, so I wrapped a long length of green cord around it and painted the whole thing black to boot. the creepy skull doesn't stand out so much and the green yarn looks good. Hrm, maybe i should hop to on that ritual tools topic.....

a nice trick here
if createing a circl use crystals in it i use amythyst and rose quartz because they are ntural protecters and their energies boost the sheild u have already
it is advisable to use the raw form of crystals if possible because it realeases more energies than the pollished forms

I've heard that as well, that polished stones aren't as powerful as the roughly cut ones. Something about the polishing keeps the energy trapped inside the stone. A circle made of stones is a good idea too, Mitral. ^^ I'd probably use hematite, onyx and obsidian though, as natural magnets for negative energy and for grounding. I get a little flighty when I do energy work.

I used to employ crystals and no doubt that they actually work. However as time passed, I realized that I don't need crystals. Nowadays, I prefer to do energy work without any props.
As for my crystals, they're in my room. I'm thinking of turning them into pretty ornaments.

Has anyone picked up any new stones or crystals over the winter/spring? Today would be a great day to leave them charging out in the sunlight or moonlight; its' Beltane! Any stones associated with fertility, health and happiness would get a real boost. 3nodding
