I suggest you stay on tuba. I had the same problem as you, and trust me, it isnt the same at all, period. The embrochure between the two instruments are not even the closest of being the same, it is a lot smaller, and higher, and tighter. You will have to really work at getting used to playing the baritone/ euphonium.
If you HAVE to do it, i would reccomend that you switch over the summer, so that you can practice on the baritone, and get used to it while you are not in school (if it permits, I.E. you have instrument check out). This will give you time to learn how to play the instrument, and also, get used to reading music one octive higher.
Hope I could help you out on your decision!

I would say sticking on tuba. As fun as the baritone may be you get more respect on tuba. At least at my school that is how it is. No body even knows what the baritone is. Everyone thinks the tuba is cool though.

You should definatly stick with tuba. Infact I just switched from baritone/trumpet(I played both) to tuba. Tuba is a million times more fun. And like some guys said earlier the ombiture is way diifferent.(besides, tubas get all the cool base lines 3nodding )

If I were you, I'd stay on tuba. Even though I think baritone is cooler. But that's just because I'm a high brass player, (mostly) and the baritone is like the cool low brass cousin of the trumpet.

I'd say stick to tuba. People typically do give you more respect for playing tuba, because as the others have said, a lot of people have no idea what a baritone/euphonium is. (Though it does sometimes get to be a pain in the butt, explaining the difference between a tuba and a sousaphone...)
In any case, tubas are needed more often than baritones/euphoniums, and it is a change in embouchure.
Besides, the baritones all hang out with us tubas anyway! :]

i would switch to baritone because at my school the tubas and baritones play the samy notes and parts during songs. it is lighter so you wont hurt peolpe if you drop it next to the person next to you(thet hapened to me my frend got stuck in the bell) 3nodding as far as embushure i think it is eaier. but you can do what ever you want its youre desicion
