The day was warm and perfect for a walk and Eupe Athari was taking advantage of it. Having left his mate Midnight with their cubs for a bit he'd decided he wouldn't go far but far enough he couldn't hear his two children. He loved them but with being blind his hearing was quite heightened and their cries and shouts often managed to give him a headache.
After getting out of hearing range and he hoped sight range he settled down in cooling shade of a tree. The breeze that came through the shade was cooling and enjoyable. He was used to cool temperatures and many more times than not wished he was back in the mountains with his old pride, his mate, and their children who he knew would have enjoyed the company of the pride. Sometimes he really missed them. They had been his family, all of them. Now he would probably never see them again.
