And so it was that the rather large group left the ranch together, heading towards the portal that lay in the woods between the ranch and the valley. They were a sober group as they went, quiet and serious, but that didn't take away from the amicability that was all through them.
At long last, they reached the portal, and Aliya, Amdir and Haradhel stepped back to let the Gaians activate it.

As Donovan was activating the portal, Kara turned to the three that had come with them.
"I'll send Cindy as quickly as possible," she told them, "It'll probably be quite a while here, but hopefully it won't be too long."
And hopefully Cindy can make it before the major snow dump.

Aliya nodded. "We'll send someone to check the area every day, just in case," she assured Kara. "We won't let anything happen to her. Just make sure she packs warm ... because who knows what the weather might be doing when she gets here."
She giggled.
"Does she know the way to the valley?" Amdir put in, always the practical one. "It's easy to get lost, especially in the snow ..."
Maybe there was some way they could communicate over a distance, some way to know when Cindy would arrive ...

Donovan had a better idea but he still had to think about it.
"At best.. the only two places Cindy has been is to the Ranch and Ulani and Ulrich's place. That's it and she hasn't been here since it's changed or anything."

Amdir nodded grimly. "We'll make sure to check several times daily," he promised Donovan. "Just make sure to tell her to stay put once she's here. Maybe we'll just get into the habit of having someone here permanently, like the guards at the ranch, in case she comes during the night ... better safe than sorry, with the way things have been going of late."
"I agree," Aliya nodded. "We'll talk to the boys, see what they say ... and perhaps Haradhel, if you could talk to the fighters ..."
Haradhel nodded her agreement. "Will do," she promised. "Cindy will be safe."

Kara nodded, "Thank you."
She knew Cindy would be fine, she was pretty sure of it anyhow. Ushering the younger children towards the portal.
"We'll be right behind you."
Which wasn't as hard going home as it was coming here.
Lin waved, "See you another time," she told them all before going through the portal.
"We'll visit again," Feng huggied Aliya and let Naida give her own version of a hug before going through.
Ryu chuckled, "With stories to tell..."
Both left through the portal next followed by the younger children.

"We won't waste time," Donovan nodded in agreement in reference to Cindy.
After all they can't be doing that forever, the sooner Cindy could be through the easier it was going to be for them.
"Anyhow this is good bye for now," he took Kara's hand.
