Alma WadeAlma was always a troubled child. She suffered from continuous nightmares as well as a constant severe cases of psychosis; always appearing in a conscious catatonic state of being. She also seemed to have the ability to hone in on the negative emotions from others that circulated around her. Rarely did she speak, let alone show any form of emotion. Over time, these conditions worsened and intensified. So, as the scientist he was, Harlan Wade (Alma's father) decided to begin a social/scientific experimentation that focused upon the supernatural that surrounded his daughter (who was seven years old at the time). At the beginning of their tests, her photograph was taken for documented evidence and research. It was taken on October 10th, 1975.
Within a small period of time, Alma displayed great disturbance within the natural order of things. Her ability to focus in on negative emotions quickly transformed into being able to harness it as her own power. Her own nightmares also warped--being able to lash out and torment others around her. Eventually, her powers began to manifest into a paranormal capabilities. The nightmares began to transform into telepathic terrors. Her control over negativity morphed into a weapon that is hatred. This all occurred rapidly; eventually to the point where her powers surpassed all expectations.
So in order to keep her under control, ATC scientists placed her in an induced coma--two days before her eighth birthday. However, this was not only done to keep her from harming any more scientists, but to also try and initiate the true intentions of Project Origin: To successfully create psychic individuals from a psychic forbearer. The original plan was to introduce her genetics into that of living human tissue. As a result, they would be imbued with psychic powers--ranging from telekinesis to clairvoyance to mind control. However, as an actual result, her DNA maimed and warped that of the test subjects--disfiguring them in the most gruesome manor. Not only were their bodies crippled and twisted about, but their sanity had completely dissolved. So as a response to their adverse transformation, these subjects were locked away. It is not clear to why they were not executed.
Harlan Wade foresaw this negative reaction occurring, and warned his colleagues so. Nevertheless, they ignored him and proceeded to futilely try time and again to embed Alma's DNA into a suitable host. After enough failures, Wade's fellow scientists finally agreed to take action in accordance to his hypothesis: That psychic characteristics and capabilities can only be passed down genetically. So as a result, scientists took Alma's body (while still in a catatonic state) and artificially inseminated her with an anonymous sperm donor. She was fourteen at the time of impregnation and was went through an induced labor at fifteen. As soon as the baby was delivered, it was removed from Alma and placed in a controlled environment setting. Not soon after her first birth was she artificially inseminated once more. Nine months later, she went through the same ordeal--having an induced labor and then having her child stripped from her. Two days later, Project Origin was shut down to make way for Project Perseus. She was immediately removed from life support and died six days later.
The two children Alma gave birth to were both male subjects. Not only were they separated from their mother, but also separated from one another. They both grew up in two entirely different environments. The elder brother proceeded to hone in on his clairvoyant capabilities as his younger brother pursued his telepathic powers. Decades later was it revealed (publicly) that the first son Alma birthed was the Point Man of F.E.A.R.'s Alpha Team, and her second son was that of Paxton Fettel. This was first discovered by Alpha Team's Point Man when a mentally melded Fettel/Alma revealed this unto him before the destruction of Origin Facility.
Upon the destruction of Origin Point (a.k.a. Origin Facility), a severe paranormal disturbance shook through the entire city. Despite the confirmation of Alma's soul finding peace, reports of sighting her continued to fluctuate about. Apparently, her soul did not find rest, and manifested itself in a new physical form. Unlike before, she was seen as a young girl with long, nappy hair in a red dress who was approximately eight years old. Now she took upon the form of what she appeared as when she died--a naked sixteen year old girl with long, black, untamed hair that laid in front of her face (like when she was younger). But one defining characteristic that differed from her previous form was she acted out far more violently, and with the assist of spirits and apparitions present.

The photo above was taken roughly three years back via subway security camera. It is the most recent and only picture of Alma's current state of being. However, F.E.A.R. consultants and scientists have theorized that her image has continued to mature and evolve over time. This is due to the fact of 'making up lost time' for she was held captive for so many years. However, because she is only a spirit, it is hard to say why her appearance has altered so. And it is not even that consistent for F.E.A.R. and SFOD-D operatives--for those who have survived--within the past two years that have obtained visual contact of Alma reported her possessing both forms (but not at the same time, of course).
And in a related report, all those who have laid eyes upon Alma within the recent years have passed away in some manor or another. Whether it be by paranormal occurrences, hostile contact, or suicide, all field operatives who have laid eyes upon her have ended up dead; killed in a most gruesome manor. The only ones who have not turned up dead is Lieutenant Steven Chen. However, over the past several years, his mental stability has increasingly grown more and more unstable. F.E.A.R. psychologists believe it is only a matter of time before Lt. Chen is driven to complete insanity. There has been one other member of F.E.A.R. that has seen Alma and lived, though his mental state is fragile and weak. Sergeant First Class Drace Ba'Gamnan. His state of mind has always been unstable and volatile, however his behavior has only worsened. Recently, he has been incarcerated due to the murders of five other F.E.A.R. operatives. But what disturbed his superiors most about his actions was after they were dead, he used their blood to paint an image upon the ground. Many fear that Alma has extended and increased her powers. Others dread that she may be looking for a new host. But those in F.E.A.R. know that things will only worsen as time rolls on.
