What is your avatar to you? Is your avatar the way you wanna look? How you feel your personality is inside? Or is it just what you though was cute or cool at the moment. Feel free to come up with other questions on avatars to answer yourself.
Side Note- I'm new so what my character has on isn't what i want it to be. I will have a ideal one in due time. When i get it if this topic is still up i will post on it.

But for the current mask (for Halloween) and some blatantly obvious flourishes (like the red panda), my avatar mirrors how I look in real life as much as possible within the limits of Gaia items and anatomy. Even in this cutsie-looking template, I should be thinner and MUCH shorter.
Part of it has to do with my lack of imagination (artistic skills != creativity). Part of it has to do with preferring to keep to myself/having nothing to hide, depending on your perspective. I expose pretty much the same personal information both in real life and online.
I've always been a bit confused about using clothes, accessories, avatars, etc. to reveal one's personality/mood. I thought my face and body language were good enough. As for online, there's more reliance on wording, punctuation, and the odd emoticon when I'm trying to stress a point.

My avi just shows what I wanted to make it look like. It's my art work that I sculpt. I base my avi on the holidays, like this one is for halloween. I have only done Halloween and Valentines Day so far though.
