I think 9 > 7 though.
The only music that got incredibly annoying in FF7 was the Golden Saucer music. D: OH GOD, YOU HEAR IT ONCE AND IT'S STUCK IN YOUR HEAD THE WHOLE DAY.

 Out of all of the FF games I think XII has some of the best music. Out of any video game, I'm still in love with the music from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time. It would get stuck in my head for hours after playing.

I think FFXII has some of the best stand alone tracks, but as a whole some of the other sound tracks beat it as a whole.
Rebellion and End theme FTW!
Then again I'm just baised in favor of FFX c:

Yeah, I'll agree with that. Some of the tracks are nice enough where I don't mind playing them while cleaning my room instead of listening to the radio.

I love the town music in Majora's Mask and the Deku Palace music.

State of Urgency, the theme of Arcadia, and Salika Wood are some of my favorite tracks in XII.
But IX is my all time favorite of Final Fantasy soundtracks.
Eternal Sonata has some amazing battle themes. And then there's the Xenosaga series. . .
And while we're on the topic of Zelda,
Blizzetta boss battle!! <'33 Zant had some pretty trippy music too, particularly his twenty some boss fights.

Man, I remember when I was eleven I wanted an Ocarina. Nine years later and I still want one. ;-; I loved the music in Ocarina of Time. Gerudo Valley had the best music everrr. And then Goron City and the Lost Woods had some kick a** music.
