Ivory white hair drew patterns in the air as the azure tips melded in with the sky. It was a good day, if not a little hot, and Forseti sat for a moment, admiring the sun on the mirror-like lake, living up to its glorious namesake.

The grass stretched on for as far as eye could see- waving, enchanted fields of greenery. It was easy on his eyes, but he preferred the quiet of sleep behind closed eyelids- dark, mysterious, unconscious. Just as he preferred the night to day, the moonlight to the sunlight, even if that familiar white façade was just a pale imitation to the blazing fireball somewhere in the universe.

Beside him, a small voice peeped. It belonged to a small black bird, its wings elegantly folded in, the image picturesque. Small, yellow eyes glowed with jokes left unsaid as the wayward comment drifted up to the Aisul’s ears,

“Not much to do today, huh.”

Forseti sneered, then bent over to nuzzle the small creature playfully.

“No, we’re just booming with business,” he chuckled, sending a well timed wink over his shoulder. “Makes you kinda glad the others haven’t come today, or else we’d only have you to work with.”

Färben was quite bored. There was nothing that could hold the young fawns interest for long as he walked about. He was starting to wonder if there was any more of his own kind around; ever since he had parted ways with the one green fellow he hadn’t seen any other’s. Sighing, magenta eyes fell to the ground, watching the grass sway with the wind and move around his little hooves as he walked. A shadow passed just within his range of sight, making the grass a darker blue-green where it hit. His eyes darted up to find the source of the shade and landed on a little red bird flying overhead.

He followed the red speck as he flew, calling up every once and a while if he wanted to play, but the bird didn’t seem to understand. Not that Färben understood the tweets, chrips and songs of the birds either, but he never pondered that thought as it slipped to and from his mind. Just as he thought he would be able to catch up to the robin, he tripped- landing on face with a muffled cry. He lay there, amused by his clumsiness, and started giggling into the soft grass when he noticed the thing he had tripped over was still under his legs. Awkwardly, he pushed himself up on his front legs to look behind him at the culprit, to find it wasn’t a log or mound of dirt as he had thought. It was another Aisulu!

“Sorry,” he started in a timid voice, a slight Germanic inflection to his tenor as he got off of the older male. He was again awestruck by the coloring of the other; his muted palate in such contrast with the boys overly bright one. His attention was diverted again by the angry chirping by his head, and then the angry pecking at said head.

“Ow! Ow! Ow!” He exclaimed, eyes screwed shut in pain as he tried to literally shake off his assailant. Seemed the black bird with the older male didn’t like being almost trampled.

Forseti blinked into the quiet of the lake. It was enough for him, that mirror-like surface, the constant, but comforting chirp of his avian companions. He had never felt himself wanting for any kind of camaraderie or the like, and today was no different.

At the sudden outbreak of squawking and childish laughter, though, he whipped his head around and frowned darkly, only to be met with the grunt of the collision and a flash of blinding tangerine. He cried out in surprise as he lost his balance and fell backwards onto his hind legs, his golden hooves kicking up a bit of the lake's water, his hair like a disheveled halo about his countenance.

When he had recovered, he glanced up, vituperation on the tip of his tongue until he realized the culprit was only a fawn. At that, he held his words and studied the other quietly before flicking his head to call off the birds. Taking a short canter up the side of the lake and out of the water, he let his eyes peruse the other, making an assessment as quickly as possible.

Purple hair. Short, punkish. He seemed timid enough, but his coral eyes screamed rebel and Forseti found himself conflicted not to treat him as such.

"...Dexterity needs some work," he finally remarked dryly, ignoring the small apology. "You alright?"
