To be honest, I think I'm at one of those stages in my life where I'm trying to find out who I am. I think self-discovery is one of those "life-long" journeys. No matter how much you learn about you, will you ever know it all? I suppose not, unless you experience everything there is to experience. For example, if in your entire life, the situation never arises, how will you know if you would die for someone else or save someone else's life? I suppose you could assume that you would. With humans being so self-aware, I think we concentrate too much on "finding ourselves" rather than enjoying the journey.
