What are tube amps?

I'm wondering what a tube amp is. And what makes a tube amp different than any other?

they are amplified by vaccum tubes. Regular amps try to sound like tubes.
Tube amps have a warmer tone, and are much more powerful.
Also, tube watts are twice as loud as a solid state amp.
A 50 watt tube amp is really 100 watts.
The only downside is you have to change the tubes when they wear out and its not cheap

its worth it , and sometimes you dont even have to change them . Unless they totally totally break on ya crying
