"Of course! Whoo!" Sora looked about ready to bolt to go tell the others, but held himself back for a quick moment. "Oh, and Mikuru says that Ryou's awake. Is he really? And is he okay?"

Riku paused as he passed the two, after having come down from the roof. "Vegeta and Inuyasha are on the beach sparring." He informed Sora briefly. He then glanced at Rei, cocking his head a little, not speaking to her directly. "What'd she say?"

"Don't you know it's rude to interrupt?" Sora asked crossly, though he didn't seem really angry. "She says if we clean up after we can do it. I'll tell you later." He waved his friend off as he focused his full attention on Rei.

Rei nodded "Ryou's up. He's eating right now. Sylvia says he's just fine" Rei said with a smile.

"Oh?" Riku arched an eyebrow, and glanced at the door he presumed was Ryou's. "I need to talk to him-- well, the spirit. About what's happened... Is now a good time?"

"No...He just woke up. Give him a while. He's eating right now." Rei told him.

Angry Karma

"Right, right..." Riku muttered, and then turned to look at Sora for a somewhat long, awkward moment. "Oh, Sora, before I forget-- Vegeta says he's tired of having to fight us with the huge handicap he's giving himself. Something about us being too frail. He wants to fight us for 'real', with no weapons, and see how things turn out. Says that if we do still want to use our silly blades, he'll aim to break them." Riku rolled his eyes. "Honestly, I've never met someone with a temper like his, and Inuyasha said--"

Riku fell silent when he heard someone else talking-- shouting, really. It was Ryou, and though his voice was slightly muffled from the door, his words were easy to make out. "An entire week! Why shouldn't I get angry? A whole week of my life is gone just so you could do something as stupid as bringing Yugi here!" Ryou was normally a fairly well-tempered person, so hearing him sound so angry was somewhat surprising. He fell silent abruptly, as though someone were responding, but of course nobody in the hallway would be able to hear his yami.

"Well...I dont think thats a good idea... Sylvia can only heal so much...and if eather of you get wounded to a point where to need to go to a hospital...well...your going to be a little hard to explain." rei said.

"Yeah, I know." Riku forced his attention away from the one-sided conversation and glanced towards Sora. The brunet was looking at the door, his eyes narrowed just slightly, and Riku put a hand on his friend's shoulder. Whatever was going on behind the door wasn't any of their concern-- Sora just liked to play the part of 'hero' too much sometimes. "He's apparently used to a lot stronger opponents, or something, and he's just really angry that he can't get back to his home and train 'properly.'"

Sora tensed at Riku's hand and looked ready to pull away, but decided not to make a big deal out of it. He shrugged lightly, and Riku's hand fell away. "The guy is a jerk. We've all tried to give him a chance, but he's just-- he's impossible! He knows he can defeat all of us with one hand behind his back, and never stops rubbing that fact in our faces. I mean, we're just sparring. You can't act superior the whole time!" Sora's normally cheerful expression clouded over with irritation. "He takes all the fun out of training, but Riku and Inuyasha enjoy fighting with him."

Bulma was about to lose her mind, she decided. It had been months since her husband had vanished-- she could remember the day perfectly. He had been walking out of the gravity room, towards her, then he had fallen, and just disappeared. Nobody had understood it at all.

The Z fighters had arrived almost instantaneously. They were almost always aware of the others' ki levels-- when one of the strongest levels just blipped out, it wasn't easily overlooked. After Bulma had managed to get less panicked, she had told them what happened. All of the other fighters had tried their best to sense Vegeta, but nothing could be felt.

Piccolo had been the one to suggest-- more like state-- that Vegeta was probably dead. 'When Goku died against Raditz,' he had informed them, 'Kami had made Goku's body vanish so he would have one in the afterworld.' It was possible, then, that Vegeta had somehow died, suddenly, which caused him to fall, and that someone in the afterlife or with such powers had removed his body from the earth.

Bulma had gotten worked up over that, certainly. She didn't remember much of what happened, but she had been told that she had started screaming at all of the Z Fighters that there was no way Vegeta could be dead, that she would know if he was. They had done their best to calm her, but they had been unable to fully disagree with Piccolo-- Vegeta didn't know Instant Transmission, and even if he had just moved at super speed, they would still be able to sense him, even if he was suppressing his powers. Besides, it wouldn't make any sense for Vegeta to hide.

And thus, the search had begun. With Baba's help, they had contacted people in the afterworld, asking them to search for Vegeta. Goku was more than willing to go hunting for his fellow Saiyan, but got no results. King Yemma looked through his records, but Vegeta had never 'checked in', as he sourly stated. King Kai used his antenna to try and seek him out, but even the great Kai could do nothing to locate the missing Saiyan Prince.

Three months had passed, which was how long Bulma agreed to wait while the others looked. She had gathered the Dragonballs quickly, but had waited until everyone was pretty sure Vegeta wasn't in any obvious place. Now was time to summon the Eternal Dragon and see what they could do.

Mikuru was thinking to herself as she cooked happily in the kitchen. She wasn't a singer or even a hummer-- she was a thinker. She spelled out words, wrote stories, and narrated her life as she took stock of the refrigerator and considered future meals. She had appointed herself official house chef, after arriving, but now was more focused on making food for one specific person instead of the whole group. She didn't mind cooking, actually quite enjoyed it, and the best part was that this person was able to keep up with her. As soon as food was set out, it was devoured, it seemed. Saiyans seemed to have a bottomless stomach.

Mikuru smiled a little to herself. Vegeta was arrogant and rude, never said thanks, but she rather enjoyed doing things for him. She had been needing something to do, and cooking for him, this monstrosity that never seemed to have an end to his appetite, was a perfect solution. Besides, it got Yugi off of her back. Yugi had been hopeless and clingy when he first arrived, realizing that he wasn't a fighter and wouldn't fit in with the others, and that the other people were too different from him to form bonds. He had probably wanted to befriend her more to have someone to hang around with, but Mikuru had simply been unable to stand the little teen. She had gentle pushed his attention away from her, by burying herself in work with cooking.

Deciding to make some Chicken Yakitori (kebabs), Mikuru pulled the chicken breasts from the fridge to sit on the counter to wait as she made the marinade. She had covered the chicken with the sauce and had left it in the fridge to sit for an hour when the two fighters emerged from outside. Inuyasha was distinctly worse off, looking utterly battered, while Vegeta was only bruised here or there. Inuyasha poked his head in to see what was going on.

"You ought to take a break, you know." He commented easily, his eyes widening slightly at the large amount of food platters that littered the counters. "Honestly, even if some people can eat this much doesn't mean they need to." He gave Vegeta a sharp look as the prince emerged from the basement just behind him. "You'll work yourself to death. Or catch yourself on fire."

Mikuru wiped her perspiring forehead with her sleeve and offered Inuyasha a warm but shy smile. The oven was on, and she was awfully hot. "I could say the same about you. You don't look fit enough to walk nowadays." She said, her voice still painfully soft, despite her growing confidence. "Besides, I like doing this. I think I'd rather die of fire than kill myself from boredom."

Inuyasha rolled his gold eyes and then peered down the hallway. "Sora and Riku left early. D'you know where they went?" He asked, directing the question at Mikuru, pretending not to hear Vegeta's somewhat disgusted snort. The Saiyan, as he constantly gloated, was able to sense ki, or power levels, whatever you wanted to call it. So he was naturally aware where everyone in the building was, for the most part. The strong ones, anyway, he had said. The ones with levels worth noticing.

"Un." Mikuru nodded slightly, glad that she knew something for once. "They're seeing Ryou. He's awake, remember? Sora also wanted to talk to Rei about some competition."

"Oh, right, right." Inuyasha looked distracted for a moment, then shrugged. "Eh, I don't want to see the twirp. I'm gonna go nap or something." He rubbed his sore neck, and tried not to move stiffly as he walked away-- Vegeta had really given him a beating during their recent spar. Inuyasha knew that the Saiyan was impossibly strong, but the thing was, he had way too much pride. Vegeta would never be able to lose. Even if he promised to handicap himself to a more sane level, he would always raise his power sharply if he realized the other fighter might land a strong hit or two. Inuyasha called it cheating, Vegeta said he was allowed.

Mikuru waved goodbye at the demi-demon and then turned her attention to Vegeta as the Saiyan Prince entered the kitchen. "If you want something to eat, I've got that made up." She offered weakly, pointing at several heaping plates. "I'm working on more right now. And if you still insist on getting a midnight snack, you'll just have to put some of that to the side and eat it later. I don't like having you raid the fridge when I've gone to bed."

"Hn." Vegeta completely ignored the girl as he examined the food, but decided that he didn't want food right now. Honestly, he was distrustful of the girl. The first time she had offered him food, so readily, he had been convinced that she had poisoned or tampered it in some way. Inuyasha, that imbecile, had accepted the food and gobbled it down greedily. Since the halfwit hadn't shown any signs of being poisoned, Vegeta had deemed future food safe to eat. But he was still cautious.
