Mivu was kind of exploring again today. After meeting his new friend that explored with him, it had completely consumed him. He couldn't sit still; even Dayo was getting annoyed with how often he wiggled about, wanting to go outside and roam around.
It was intoxicating.
And now was his first chance in a few days to finally get out of the den and just go. It had rained rather hard the past day or so, and his parents wouldn't let them out of the den. His mother used the excuse that they would get sick and dirty, and they couldn't clean up in the water hole because it was all muddy all around.
He eagerly tumbled around in the dirt, happily making a complete mess of himself and laughing about it.

A lurking rouge might have posed a threat had it been anyone else but Najila, the impudent and rather lazy spawn of unknown kin, whose mottled coat of monochromatic hues swayed with the exhausting pendulum of her being. She was a lioness, however, and spent her days sleeping and eating and traveling as she was ought to do. It never occurred to her until much later the presence of the advantageous child, who bounded with such youth through the eve of filth, as though his very existence was provided in these fleeting moments of childhood...
She did, however, would first notice the cacophony of laughter that fleeted against the air like a transparent veil, abandon to the wind. A gray ear flicked at this, perturbed with the idea that her rouge status wouldn't lass for long, as this child would grant the utmost attention from his elders. There was no time for sleep here.
But she was so tired.
Against the will of her body, her unwillingly stained coat creaked and twitched as the lioness rose, officially awake. She didn't begrudge the childish boy - indeed, had it been a boy - for acting his age. Instead, she opened her opalescent, turning in the direction of the goldenrod cub who at a distance seemed more brown than his true calling.
Whether Mivu noticed the observant Najila or not, though, was a whole different story.
ooc; This is pretty long. I went overboard. xD;

Mivu did indeed notice the monochrome lioness, standing a distance away. His curiosity got the better of him and he trotted forward with a wary smile on his face. He must have been already noticed for she looked friendly and waiting for him to come closer.
"Good morning," he greeted politely. It was always a common courtesy his mother had drilled into his head to treat strangers with politeness and respect at all times. Just in case this lioness knew his mother, he wasn't taking any chances at slacking off on his introductions.
"What are you doing way out here?"
It wasn't, in fact, 'way out' from his den. Perhaps a five minute walk, really. But it seemed like a longer distance to the cub, whose strides weren't nearly as long as an adult's. Plus, Mivu didn't really understand the true concept of time as it was, so the amount of time it took him to get from the den to where he was now seemed much longer to him than it really was.
Oh well. That's a cub for you.

Though the lioness remained motionless and unphased by the cub's initiative to fearlessly traipse onward in her direction, she didn't want to give off any ill intent when it came to presence of the child. If there indeed was such a youngster around, then the mother wouldn't be far off from her brood. Would she? That was just how things were, and now that she was in another territory altogether, Najila didn't want to infringe on any common courtesy these Pridelanders might have adopted. Otherwise, she might have just wandered off. The female just hoped she didn't later regret her decision.
The little cub's voice came as a surprise at first, the milky-white orbs that made up her gaze forced elsewhere as they peered down the bridge of her nose and into the violet eyes of the other. Well, that was a friendly face. She was relieved to realize this, her plumed tail flicking briefly in mental encouragement. "'Morning!" she returned, perhaps a little too happy as far as introductions go.
Obviously, Najila had not seen another lion in the longest time.
As if to mirror her own thoughts, this Mivu began to inquire as per her whereabouts. She was wary of this at first, though even she could not answer as to why. No introductions first? she thought, and subsequently shrugged, knowing that she would never know the answer. "Well, I travel a lot," the rouge smiled, refraining from describing her habitual instinct as 'wandering'. "I sleep where ever I fall." With a toothy grin, the female rose a paw to untangle the tuft of hair that fell in front of her face. "And what's your name, little cub?"

Mivu knew politeness, and had had his manners drilled into his head thanks to his mother, but for some reason he always forgot how to use them whenever he met new people. It was a fault of his, but he didn't really mind so much right now. Cubs could get away with pretty much anything. When he got older, it would be different, but until then, he had to soak up this opportunity.
His ears twitched upwards when she replied. "Travel?" he repeated, a good bit interested. His mother used to tell stories of the different lions she met when she was younger; she had the odd habit of walking the borders of the Pridelands. At the many different watering holes, she had met many new friends. "Is this your first time here? Or is this your home, too?"
Then he thought about 'sleeping wherever she fell.' What if she fell in a prickle bush?
"Have you ever slept in a prickle bush?" he couldn't help but ask. "Because if you sleep wherever you fall, what if you fall someplace that's really really really uncomfortable?"
"Oh, I'm Mivu," he replied, giving the short nickname his family liked to yell out often enough for him. Dayo liked the name because it was easier for her. Plus, what was the point of having a long name if everyone just shortens it anyway? His mother had a short name, his father kinda had one too. And all but Dayo had decent names too. It was ridiculous of his parents to do such a thing to him, that's for sure.
"What's your name?"
