Nenianos
In my band the other week, one of the girl brass players called Lauren was working on this piece. We all thought she was playing tenor horn. When she played a note with someone else, it sounded fine, but she seemed to be finding it difficult to pitch right.
She had been playing the tenor horn part, but kept struggling and playing what seemed like the wrong notes.
After 2 weeks of practice, she seemed to be playing most of it really well.
As part of an exercise, she played it on her own for a bit. The fingering seemed really wrong.
We soon discovered that she wasn't actually playing the tenor horn at all but baritone or something XD
She had been transposing everything naturally in her head LMAO!
She didn't even know what key her instrument was in.
We just couldn't believe it.
I don't I could do that if I tried XD
Anyone ever had an experience like that themselves or in your band? Tenor Horn....Isn't that an Alto Horn?
Wow. I don't think I could do that. 8]
But I can tell a Eb Horn from a Baritone/Euphonium and Tuba.
Alto Horn: Less tubing than a baritone.
Baritone:A little more tubing, but not alot.
Euphonium:....Doesn't it have more tubing than a baritone?
Tuba: A LOT bigger than all of these, and of course, more tubing.
