My outlines are tranistory - that is, subject to change. And I'm fine with that. Sometimes I plan things out to the nitty gritty detail...but more often than not my outlines are broad and "big picture" in their scope.

Funny thing is, one of my prominent stories began with no outline of any kind. Over the past eight years it's been processing, it grew an outline. Except for the ending. That still needs work. Almost everything else (again, the major scenes) are pretty much just ready to be written.

Point being: I believe in outlines where I have a use for them but only when they're open to change.
