My brothers keep getting in the way of my book, and I'm about to just give up. What should I do?

Hector, my question to you would be, "In what way are your brothers getting in the way of you writing your book?" Unless they are stealing your writing implements or destroying your already finished pages, what exactly is it they are doing?

I've written 5 or more pages dozens of times, and EVERY time, they delete them in one way or another. They really just don't care. xp

So you and your brothers are all sharing the same computer? If so, then you need to stop using the computer to write your book. Get yourself a notebook and some pencils and do it the old fashioned way. It may take you longer, but at least you can find a place to stash the notebook so they can't find it.

Welll actually, I'm sorta' doin' that right now. I'm writing my 1st draft on paper, and I do the second draft on the computer. But, because my family thinks I'm speding too much time on the computer, they delete my profile. This has happend about 5 times. xp

That way if your brothers delete it, you will still have it.

If nothing else, you can always post it in this guild, right? It's kinda what it's for I think. Then again...I haven't posted anything in here because, although I trust the people in this guild, I'm too paranoid that people browsing through will steal my stuff xp

Alright all you paranoid writers. There is a place here on Gaia, on your own profile, where you can write whatever you want and no one can see it if you don't give them permission to do so. It's called My Journal. Just post your work there and set the entry to Private. That will keep it safe from any potential writing thieves here on Gaia. I don't know why you are all so concerned with anyone wanting to steal your stories. Anyone worth their salt, so to speak, would not bother coming to a place like Gaia to look for story ideas.

That's good advice, but I've seen EVERYTHING get stolen off Gaia. Also, this is my BEST IDEA EVER, and I don't want to take my chances. Another thing is, I have a hard time coming up with good, interesting ideas, and IF they get stolen, I'd fall apart. I'd never know what to do. So, I'll keep this stuff to myself.

If I were you, this is what I would do. Save your money. Your allowance or ask your parents if you can do some extra chores for a bit of cash, if you need to. However you make your own personal money. Go buy yourself a portable jump drive memory stick. It plugs into the USB port on your computer (All computers have them in the back; most newer computers have them in the front as well). You plug it in, save your story on that, take it out, and its safe! I don't trust my computer to last forever, so I have all of my writing on a jump drive stick. I've lost writing in the past because my computer kicked the bucket.
You wouldn't need one with a great big memory chip in it; writing doesn't take up much memory. I paid about $30 for mine, and it is 128mb lexar media brand. You could probably find them cheaper than that, but I wanted one with a good bit of memory for college.

I was just going to suggest the same thing, Rhoslyn. I have a 1 gigabite USB drive I use for my stories. I also have a hard copy I print out every time I add some to a story and put it in one of those accordion folders with a lot of pockets. No siblings here, but I have cats and they can destroy a hard copy.
