I hate the piccolo. They are awful instruments.
Yet, I have been playing one for...About five years now.
Just, be warned. They BREAK A LOT.
They are the spawn of the devil.

Flute for 15 years, picc for 8 years. Picc is a beautiful instrument to listen to if you are listening to someone who knows what they are doing. Make sure you warm up and play flute a little before playing picc, and warm up on picc too. Long tones are good. If you are looking for a good picc solo, Telemann Fantasies are good, and I love all of the Vivaldi concerti.

Piccolo is awesome! I've been playing for almost three years now and I'm first picc at my school. Be warned, you will loose some hearing in your right ear. XD But it's worth it, picc's a lot of fun to play and can sound so cheery and beautiful if you know what you're doing.
