I'm looking to get a kinda punchy distortion bass sound for our band. A bit like the sound Chris from Muse has in Time is running out or Hysteria. Don't just tell me to get a pedulla and 4 marshall cabs... i'm looking for effect pedals. Maybe the big muff? I have a line6 floorpod, but i just cant seem to get the right sounds out of it... I play a Squier Special P-bass and a friends Yamaha E series. If the bass is the problem ( crying ) what would i need? Single pick up for the sound? Schecter because we always play in drop D ?

P bass + big muff is probably what you will be needing. Electro Harmonix makes the best dist. pedals IMO.

get the big muff from russia. It gives you chrises sound, exactly, right out of the box.
