Luka was quite proud of himself. He had actually managed to escape the house. Shuhei was fast asleep, his father was at work and he had been bored, oh so very bored.
He was sure that Shu wouldn't mind at all if he just popped out for a bit. He was only going to go down to the park and back. He liked it at the park. All the leaves and the ponds and grass and people playing. It was a lot of fun.
Once there he floated under the shade of the trees and watched the children play in the park. They looked like they were having a lot of fun and he wished that he could go and play too without scaring them.

Another beautifully clear autumn day. The sun was high in the bright blue sky and there was a rogue cloud here and there. To be trapped indoors on a day like this was nothing short of a crime! Natsuki was busy attempting to unwind at the steam yoga class, leaving Sa'ida bored off her rocker at home. Writing a note in fifteen different colors, she tacked it on the kitchen cork board before letting herself out the window.
She remembered the park nearby where she met Tariel back in the spring. It was fully of beautiful flowers and trees back then, but now only a few colorful flowers remained. However, she saw a picture in the paper of the maples changing colors. She had to see them!
Bouncing along, the stone walkway, someone caught her eye. A boy dressed all in white who looked just like her! For some reason, he looked familiar and she couldn't figure out why. He looking like a Prince on a white horse... well, sans horse that is. Sneaking close by, she waved to him! "Hi there! I'm Sa'ida! Who are you who looks like me?" she asked, pointing at her colorful wings that beat happily and her ribbon twisting in excitement.

Luka was very very surprised to see a person ... or non person who looked like him. A girl too, he had only met that creepy Rivner guy and he was not much fun.
"I'm Luka." He grinned, bowing a little like Shuhei and his father did when they met people "But I don't look like you." He said, wondering if he had suddenly changed appearence since the morning.

"It's nice to meet you Luka," Sa'ida giggled, giving him what would look like a curtsy has she possessed a lower half. She looked at Luka with a quizzical expression. Looking past him, she didn't see any other raevans or beings like them. She clenched her fists, fighting the urge to point at his wings and ribbon parts. Natsuki always told her it was rude to point.
"Ah.... wh-what I mean is, you have wings and I have wings....and and and... this part here," she said, trying to find the right words to describe what she wanted to say to Luka without pointing at him. Her bracelets jangled and she animatedly tried to explain her thoughts to him...politely. "This part moves like mine. We could be the same... type or something..." Sa'ida tried not to look defeated or embarrassed, but despite her dark tan, a slight rosiness peeked through on her cheeks. Her wings dipped a little, but she tried to keep her smile on. "Would you like to play together, Luka?"
She leaned a little closer and whispered to him, "A lot of the parents here don't like the kids playing with 'our kind'. I heard them talking the other day when Natchi and I came here. They are a little mean. It made me sad."

"Oh." He said as she pointed out the ways they were similar. "Yeah, i suppose we are alllmost the same." He laughed and looked back over to the play park. He really did want to play. Even if they were mean.
"I'd love to play. And ... and we can ignore them. Yoshi says that I should just ignore people when they talk about me. They're just rude."

"I like that plan and I like Yoshi's way of thinking!" Sa'ida said rebounding rather quickly. Looking around, she saw all the park attractions mobbed by kids and their mean parents with very large sticks stuck up in very not nice places. Since the parents lacked the spacious openings that raevans had, the genie girl was rather curious how the sticks got up there in the first place.
""Hmmm.... how about over there?" she said pointing to the beautifully colored thicket of maple trees. Leaves of gold, orange and red littered the faded green grass. "Let's go exploring, Luka! We can be THE EXPLORERS!!" she squealed cheerfully, grabbing his arm lightly and looking at him rather expectantly. She hoped he liked her idea.

Luka nodded as she said she liked Yoshi's way of thinking. He liked Yoshi too, he was more cleverer than Shuhei, not that he would tell Shu that.
Spinning a little as they floated around the park he grinned and followed her over to the trees. He loved the trees and the leaves and just about any other kind of foresty, leafy place.
"EXPLORERS" he cheered. That sounded like a lot of fun. "What are we looking for?"

Luka was pretty. His light shined bright like the sun, but different. He felt warm on the crisp autumn day, even just touching his arm lightly, she instantly felt warmer. Since summer had faded away, the desert raevan often felt cold. She certainly wasn't dressed for colder weather. Sa'ida's cocoa skin and rich chocolate hair would make it easy for her to blend into the surround woods-- well, if it weren't for her golden halo of coral, glittering accessories and other bright colors of autumn.
"We could make a map, and a hideout, too! Do you think there might be... treasure here? Like Robin Hood or something?" the colorful raevan asked her satyr escort. They'd have to search for paper and writing implement of some kind, but people were unfortunately littering all the time in the forest, so they were bound to happen upon something suitable.The sounds of woodland creatures preparing for winter filled the air with lots of rustling, shuffling, and dashing about. The ground beneath them was painted in autumn splendor as leaves in orange, red, and brown created a crispy carpet beneath them.
"Do you like the woods Luka? Your colors smell woodsy. Like toasted almonds, wine grapes, and... and fresh pine. It's very, very nice!" the genie giggled, completely confident that her assessment of Luka's color profile was accurate. She liked Luka and was lucky she'd found him in the park. The other kids could be so mean.

Luka paused thoughtfully as she spoke and glanced around. Treasure, that sounded awfully exciting like a movie from the TV.
"Who is Robin Hood?" He asked, tilting his head to the side and smiling as he spotted a big pile of fallen leaves.
He was not sure why but he felt more energetic there, among the ancient trees and plants. At home somehow. He grinned impishly and flopped into the leaves, sending them up into the air.
"I like the woods. They're fun." He declared, watching the dappled light shine through the trees.

"He's this fox I saw in a movie. He 'steals from the rich and gives to the poor'. He lives in the forest with his gang. They do good things for others. It's very happy." Sai'da explained, trying to remember the animated movie on DVD she watched with Natchi. The forest in that movie was so green, but these woods weren't so green. They were still pretty to her.
When Luka flopped onto the pile of leaves, she giggled as orange, red, and brown fluttered around him. Catching a particularly red maple leaf in her fingers, she looked at it intently. The red was so pretty and full of life, even in death. She liked this red very much. Taking the single leaf, she held it up the sunlight momentarily before tucking it into her hair.
"I like them, too. They have lots of color," she agreed, flopping down beside him. Without Nachi's watchful eye to nag about laying on the ground. Wings of purple in blue seemed out of place amongst all the colors of warmth. She laid down beside him and looked up at the canopy above them. "The light here is pretty. Very soft, but not as warm as summer. Do you live in these woods, Luka?"

Luka thought about the movie. A fox that stole from the rich and gave to the poor. That sounded like a lot of fun.
"I haven't seen that movie. I wonder if Shuhei has it." He mused, watching the leaves as they floated down from the canopy.
Her question about his living situation made him laugh.
"No. I live in a house with Shuhei and Mr Yoshi. It would be col to live in the forest though. Where do you live?"

"Shuhei? My guardian, Natchi, has a cousin named Shuhei, too. Wouldn't it be cool if they were the same guy? She doesn't see him much, so I think she really, really misses him," Sa'ida mused, stretching her arms above her head and letting them fall lazily onto the forest floor. "We live in a big, big house in Isle de Gambino, near the beach. You should come and visit. There aren't many forests though..."
The leaves dancing on the air were so pretty. The colors are what caught her attention. In her eyes, the reds, oranges, yellows and browns swirled, etching their way into her memory. Sa'ida turned her head to look at the reavan beside her with traces of orange lingering in her green eyes. She watched him, quite interested in his laid back, carefree nature, though she wondered if she was invading on his enjoyment of the forest. The genie knew she spoke a lot, at length, but feared that it might turn her new friend off to her. She simply watched him with a soft smile, twisting a section of hair, figuring he'd talk to her if he wanted.
