Well? How's your MB season going?
It's amazing! 1st place everywhere we go!
Really good! Our scores have been really high and have only gone up!
Eh it's alright, scores are pretty good but we can always improve
Terrable! We haven't won a competition yet!

Our's is amazing right now. We've gotten 1st place at both cavalcade's we've attended so far and our show is creating a lot of buzz. See, we use these big barrels as drums for the opener and closer and people in the stands thought it was the coolest thing (and people always stop us to say how cool our hats are XD )

Yesterday we had our 2nd cavalcade and it was the first time we'd be playing the whole show for competition. So we only really worried about the closer, but then there was huge ensemble tear in the middle of the opener. That had never happened before but then the last to songs were awesome. We ended up getting 1st place with a score of 85.15! The 1st place Yankee band that was there got an 85.90. Both them and us (we were sitting next to each other) were really surprised. AND we got best music! My BD said that if the opened was better, we could have easily gotten 3 more points!

That's a huge improvement from our 1st score of 78.40. All we gotta worry about now is to keep improving our scores.

But tell me how your season's going! What have been some of the best/worst moments so far?

Quite the opposite for me.

It started off strong, everything was going good. There was seriously visible improvement day by day. We had a new teacher, but it was still going OK.

Until the first game. We played a pretty good opener and left back to the stands. During the 3rd quarter, our teacher fired the colorguard coach (who could only show on Wednesdays). Which resulted in our drumline instructor quitting. Which resulted in 5 out of 7 drummers quitting. I have an older thread about this, but it's gone further.

The next Tuesday, the drum major and woodwind captain had quit. So, me being the brass (and only) captain, I took drum major's spot. And after captains were chosen again, there were no senior captains or majors.

Now we're a band of 18 or so, 20 tops. We're almost recovered from this whole ordeal. We've even worked in new members. However, our tenor sax and quad player have to quit as of today due to interims. So, we once again have a set back.

Busy, busy season. But I don't think it can get any worse and remain a marching band.

Oh wow...that really stinks.

It was like that a couple years ago here when our old BD quit (to go to our rival school). Half the band left because then believed no one could make the make as great as he did. So we went from like 100+ people to hardly 50. Then like all of the staff left with the directer and so we almost lost the band program all together.

It'll be hard, but i'm sure you guys will bounce back! 3nodding

We got a 96 at MSU's homecoming parade last Saturday. We got all the 4-A trophys and "overall best band".... all right, I'm done bragging.

i think we've been having a pretty good season...at our new england championships, we lost to our rival band, (they got 96.35, we got 96.1) but we got best colorguard and i think best music. and we got 5 stars in all captions at both MICCA competitions. (that's like a massacuesetts thing)
anyway, i can't wait for finals! pennsylvania!

I'm at a univeristy, and we don't compete. So I have no scores or rivals or anything. But, we are doing pretty darn well!

We became grand champions with a score of 80. something at the Durant HS competition in FL. We got 3rd place at St. Augustine with a score of 81.5 (1st place got 87 O_O). We got one superior at FBA marching festival last night after getting 3 years of straight superiors. That was a letdown -_-

Ugh! we had a pretty bad season this year we got 11th at Grand National finals. Last year 7th place. We made it to finals 22 times. We won nationals 3 times and I wanna march that fourth time. No one thought we'd even make it to prelims! We improved so much. I can't wait for next season I'm ready to march(and play) my heart out!

ours just ended about two weeks ago. we got 4th place out of 9 bands at the big competition.
at state championships we got 2nd place out of FIFTEEN bands. every one was really happy.

i couldn't make the biggest competition because of vacation in florida. i really wish i was there though. every one was upset about getting 4th place. but i was the only one immune to it since i wasn't there.

the best score we got this year was an 88.55. we're one of those bands who are careless. a band that we really like to beat (which we beat twice) got a 98 at their championships, and their theme was BARRY MANILOW.

otherwise, it was a really great season. i can't wait to be in it next year!
