Blog post of mine today.

How many of you have had friends or relatives who fit this model perfectly?

You forgot that a child is neglected if he isn't properly weaned on chicken McNuggets. neutral

That gets me the most angry, to see toddlers eating fast food.

I did a report on fast food a few years ago. I haven't eaten at Mc Donald's since. Mainly because I watched the documentary "Super Size Me"- the one where that guy eats nothing but Mc Donald's to see what happens. xd

I dunno... that doesn't really annoy me all that much. People who think that fast food is a dietary staple - that annoys me.

The thing that bugs me about "Supersize Me" is that it's basically a big fat straw man. There was another guy who, similarly annoyed, went on a similar all-McDonald's diet for awhile, and actually lost weight. You can see his food log here.

Article
If your child demands candy, give him candy. If he wants the latest snack food he saw on TV with the happy cartoon characters on the box, buy it for him.

My brother once begged, and I mean, begged to have a tomato soup packet because it had Huey Dewey and Louie on it. He wouldn't shut up and then when my Oma caved it, he really didn't like it. (After we all told him how disgusting tomato soup it.)

My personal opinion is that no food should have cartoon (TV) or related advertisements. I saw this spot on the News once about children's cereals and how the more colourful boxes with cartoon characters are the most requested - even when parents had no idea about the character.

I once saw SpongeBob SquarePants on apples. Like, there was a box of apples and SpongeBob was all over the box. I should of taken a picture as I had only seen it the one time. It makes me wonder how well it did and if it did well, what conspiracies where behind it being canned. confused

Amen.

what really irks me is that people will constantly talk about "our lives are so rushed, we don't even have time to cook a full meal!"

bullcrap. a massive, stinking load of bullcrap.

if people can afford enough time to sit mindlessly in front of a television set for an hour or two, they have time to cook a decent meal and eat it at the kitchen table with the rest of the family. which may -actually- inspire decent family conversation.

Full of truth.

I've never understood the way people can live like that. I see children throwing tantrums in the supermarket, and parents caving in and putting candy that's as brightly and artificially colored as it's packaging in with the groceries, and it fills me with disdain.
There's an association in Australia full of parents that are whining to everybody around for junk food to not be advertised on TV. They say that "It gives kids 'pester power'". I find the attitude behind their standing, the sheer lack of responsibility for their own actions, the lack of responsibility for their own children, to be staggering.

I did not know what McDonalds was until i was 12
Before that it was a myth until a friends mom took us rofl

My mom was stern on home cooking and she cooked dinner EVERY night.
Or when she makes soup, she makes like 4 vats, and freezes 3 as 'back up dinner' In case she didn't have time she could just pull one of those out in the morning, and we'd eat it at night.

I think my cousin and I turned out odd.
He used to be fat and always ate fast food and candy for breakfast.
I was skinny and ate home cooked meals pretty much daily.

NOW, im fat and hes skinny - - wtf happened?
