Yup some new info on Tekken 6.
- It's going to the 360 - Release date Fall 2009
YES 2009. Tekken 6 has been in the arcades since Winter 2007, and that expansion is coming out Winter 2008. Now I'm sorry if I don't get it, but Tekkens arcade hardware is PlayStation hardware. With Tekken 6s being the launch of Namcos PS3 base arcade board.
HOW HARD is it to port this thing? Not only that but because of the 360 port Namco decided to be all friendly and hold back the PS3 version when the 360 port is finished.
No offense, but other companies including Namco have released 360 versions of games and then waited months-a full year to release the PS3 version. Why can't the PS3 version of Tekken 6 come out before the 360 version?
I'm sorry but this is bull s**t.

Deep pockets I'm afraid, Microsoft probably has given Namco a pretty penny not to stagger the release... Which frankly will kill sales on the latter console lest it be properly hyped (i.e. UTIII).

I think MS is just playing into the fear that some Japanese Dev's. have. I don't know if you saw Squares little keynotes for TGS but they had Namco, and Capcom with them and they were all bitching about how their games don't sell as well as they do in Japan in America. Also how American devs. are growing more in popularity then they are. Pretty much saying Japan has lost its spark in making grand games.
This is most likely why everything they make now is being put on both PS3 and 360 or why they're spending more time with the 360. MS I bet has pretty much sweet talked them into believing that if they side with the 360 they will have a shoe in to the American market and regain their glory once again.
But I did notice that there was no Konami. And TBH I think that they are the only company that is straight forward with anyone any more. If a game is going to be multi they say it right at the beginning. There is no PS3/360 exclusive and then its OMG we are going to port this bad puppy! AT MOST we might see it with a PSP game going to PS2 *Silent Hill Origins* But if a game is exclusive for a console Konami so far has kept its word on it.

i was kinda bummed when i heard about this. losing exclusives seems to be sony's specialty lately. i mean, this wasn't going to be a system seller, but it was a long running playstation franchise.

Sony seems to be focusing more on first party titles then on third parties -_-'
