So, my fall break starts Friday. I have next Monday and Tuesday off, and I have Wednesdays off anyway.

Unfortunately, I have three papers due before that.

Paper 1- 5-8 pages. Analyze the archetypal features of a Greek play. Due Tuesday.

Paper 2- 5-8 pages. Pick one of four offered topics focusing on Shakespeare's tragedies. Due Friday.

Paper 3- 6-8 pages. Draft; Review a young adult's book based on its usefulness for teachers. Due Friday.

This is in addition to my two weekly response papers, one due Monday and one due Friday.

I'm starting to wonder why I signed up for four literature classes.

Someone kill me.

Though there are also comedies, tragedies are most common, so these are the features of Greek plays:

Tragedies in which the protagonist has a vain attempt to elude a pitiful destiny which is revealed to them in some way, or someone (might be an oracle) tells it to them.

There's a protagonist,
[likely:]
a deuteragonist,
a tritoagonist,
and a chorus, which serves the function of commentarist or of lamenting along with the main character.

I wish I could help you, but I don't know what kind of analysis is wanted.

I'm sure that you and I have had some similar experiences. Look at me, up at 2am, popping Advil, trying to decipher about 70 pages of Derrida's Of Grammatology for a response paper due in about 12 hours. Even other professors are asking my professor why she assigned this goddamn book.

Don't tell me you haven't been up at 2am, trying to decipher some chemistry equations, waiting for that Advil to kick in.

I want to diiiiiiie.

Awlriiiiight.

First paper done!

AND my third paper's deadline was pushed back to Sunday! I have earned some of my freedom back!

I'll probably even be in the mood to write that third paper Saturday night, since I hope I actually get to go to the Ren Fest on Saturday. (I just hope it no rain. >_>)

gonk Its like EVERY college in the country EXCEPT mine has a fall break.

Lol I dont worry about papers. I do them last minute and get decent grades on them. I dont worry about ANYTHING though, because worrying is annoying and a total waste of my time.

You have to focus to get it done smile Devote one day to each paper and ONLY worry about that paper on that day, forget the other papers. That helps alleviate stress and helps get things done.
