Helios rolled around on the beach, soaking up the warmth of the sun. He was aware of his restrictions as far as going into the water, but still, the sand in his fur... Was nice. The beach had to be the best place in the world for him, so warm and...sandy.
Helios lept up, shook off the sand, and stared at the sunset, the sky looked so pretty and glittery. Colors of salmon pink, red orange, yellow, splattered across the sky. Helios smiled, his heart beating quickly at the excitement of being alone, with noone there. He could just roll around and be himself, surrounded be a warm, comfortable scenario.
Helios stopped running about for a bit, to collpase onto the shore, the warmth of the sun feeling like a blanket, the sand as soft as a bed.

With his thicker coat and longer claws, the beach and sand had become even more unbarable for Narcassis. Even at this hour he could still feel the oppressive heat. Sighing with his ears drooping, he made his way toward the one thing that was guaranteed to cool him down, the water, that is if he didn't end up freezing it like he had when he'd hopped into one of the buckets lying around the human village. Needless to say, the human wasn't too happy about that.
Huffing as the ice crystals on his fur dripped and reformed both protesting and resisting the effects of the sunlight and heat, Narcassis began to to make his way down to the water's edge, so intent on his goal that he hardly noticed Helios, even though the other was not four feet from him.
The moment his paws dipping into the shallows he sighed in relief moving into the water bit by bit. It felt good...cool and refreshing not at all like the burning sand and sun. Sticking his head under the waves for a moment he resurfaced and shook himself with a light laugh before moving back to the shallows to lay on the wet sand and let the surf wash over him on occasion.
The humans often spoke of heaven...well there were only two places Narcassis could think of that were heaven. And right now the water was one of them.

Helios continued to stare obliviously at the sky, before he heard a splash. His head surved around, staring at the source of noise.A young ice palui sat in the water, seemingly enjoying it. Helios, ninja instincts in full gear, crouched down, stalking the mysterious plaui in the water. At the shallowest point of water, where it merely lapped against his paws, he got a better look.
Narcissis, full grown and looking totally different from when he was a mere kit, was in the water. He looked so content...As if mocking Helios's reluctance to play in the water.
Still, Helios beamed up. "Hey, Narcissis!" He called.

Tail swaying slowly, the young ice was reluctant to remove himself from the water long enough to look and see just who was calling to him. Curiousity however won out and he raised his head and frowned. Who..who was this fire palui and why did he seem to know him?
"Who...?" The question wasn't even finished before the memory and realization hit him. Ah yes...this was the fire he'd met back when he'd been a kit out for a day of...exploring. Giving something that seemed to be a cross between a smirk and a smile, Narcassis rose, shaking the sand from his fur before he wadded closer to Helios.
"It's been a while Helios."
