Kolan frowned at his cousin. "They can lack appreciation all that they want. It's not their bloody forest anyway." he grumbled. But his gaze softened ever so slightly at the endearment form of his name. When Caelum spoke, his eyes widened. You'll let me shift? there was ill-contained excitement in his voice, relief as well, before he seemed to think that perhaps Caelum was fooling him. ...Why? he asked a bit guardedly in mindspeak.

Kolan glanced down at the boy beside him. "Hey, you got a name? We're gonna get going." he said, motioning towards the dragon and the others. "We'll keep you safe, so don't worry." he said, a bit gruffly, but well enough all the same.

Kalenem laughed in mindspeak. Oh? I'm sure it's nothing your brother hasn't seen before...nor I, and perhaps Kovark..not Kolan, hopefully, or the newcomer... he teased lightly, smiling up at his best friend. Thank you for helping, Kolan. You are still my noble champion. he announced, playfully, but he felt a pang as he recalled the cause of all of this..if only he hadn't refused to make Caelum Champion of the Realm...but he'd had to, for Caelum's sake..and now he was Bound, trapped in the forest the same as the other..and Caelum didn't seem to return his feelings of love...

It was a troublesome thing.

Ralver nodded as he walked alongside of Kovark. I know..I just..I think both my brother and Kolan deserve happiness..and if they'd just...stop being so stubborn, I bet that they'd make good friends. Kin even, perhaps. he mused. Ah well...not everyone can be as lucky as me, having you as my dragon~ Ralver teased his dragonsire lightly.

"Name?" Tanae repeated softly, his words slurring a little as he was drifting off to sleep every few minutes. He hadn't slept in the last few days. Just a few minutes here and there. "Izz T'ae..." He mumbled, mangling his own name as he followed, rubbing on eye and resisting a yawn.

Caelum only growled in response. There wasn't any real difference if he was the dragon or if Kolan was. He was sure that the hothead would be at least able to protect the forest and know how to deal with the inhabitants. Besides, it was all Kalenem's fault. His friend kept waking him up too early for his own tastes. His tail swung as he continued walking to the cave. Kolan could make this more complicated just by asking silly questions like why.

He just wanted to sleep

Eyes rolled at Kolan's muttering about the drunks. He really shouldn't say those  things. Kovark knew that those opinions on such men mean little in the end. He walked, listening to Ralver. Those two? Kin?  That would be the day.  He shook his head, smiling. No, they're not as lucky and I'm grateful. I don't think I could deal with more than one of you.

Kolan heard the other drifted off and he blinked, scowling a little before sighing as he hefted the boy up in his arms, stumbling a little since he didn't have his dragonic strength backing him but doing well enough. Caelum only growled and he lifted a growl, not replying for a moment before adding. Your help...was...appreciated. which was the closest to a 'thank you' that Caelum was going to get, and probably the nicest thing Kolan had ever said to Caelum. He avoided the other's gaze entirely, walking along with a blank expression, eyes purposefully trained ahead.

Kalenem heard the growl and noted Caelum's irritation. He sighed before mindspeaking. You have me back and you've found your brother...and Kolan seems...slightly less ready to attack you...I'd say it's been a good day..and soon, we'll free you, old friend. he mindspoke softly.

Ralver huffed before grinning at Kovark. Look who's talking..you've got to be the most high-maintenance dragon ever born... he teased, walking alongside of the other and bumping his shoulder playfully. Some might be scared of a dragon in general, or feel that it was disrespectful. But they'd been through too much and for too long, and besides, Kovark was his dragonsire and he Kovark's partner, so he didn't have such problems. Kovark was his best friend and most trusted companion, and the elf had never had a problem flaring his temper or keeping his dragon in line, so to speak, and vice versa.

Tanae followed along, nodding off a little bit at a time but managing to stay awake enough to get to the cave. Or so he thought. It didn't feel like more than a few steps before he was lifted up. And that jarred him awake. Wide eyes, a mixture of abject terror and confusion shining in them, as he stared at Kolan. He wasn't sure if he should fight against being carried or not--bad things had happened when people carried him. But they'd been bigoted humans, not...whatever Kolan was. Not that he was getting particularly comfortable being carried.

I'm just tired Kalenem. Need some sleep, that's all. Caelum had always been the grouchy sort when he didn't get enough sleep. Kalenem knew that well enough. He wanted to get into the cave as quickly as possible and would rather not have to deal with the others complaining about his grouchiness.

Kovark raised an eyebrow. High-maintenance? Me? You take more time getting ready between the two of us. He bumped Ralver back, smirking a little. Worrying about that hair of yours among other things. You bipedals are all the same with appearances. It was times like that Kovark wondered at the depth of Ralver's feelings for him. He wasn't particularly interested, but curious at least. He would be spending a long time with the other and certain issues should be resolved quickly.

Ralver grinned as the other bumped him back and teased him. What was that? Don't forget, I'm half-dragon now, so it's a quadruped thing too he teased. As they reached the cave, he glanced around and watched his brother walking beside his elf. Ralver still wondered at the full story on that, but that could wait. He and his twin had some bonding to do...eventually.

As they reached the cave, Kolan headed to a corner and set Tanae down, eyeing him a moment before rising and looking to the white dragon. "You said you'd let me shift." he said, waiting, and he couldn't hide the eagerness in his voice.

(Taking a little liberty here to speed things along...XD)

Kolan watched as Caelum shifted elf, during the day time for the first time in five years, even as he found himself shifting dragon. When it was finished, the flame-colored dragon gave a roar that rocked the cave and he dug his claws into the ground, baring his fangs by Caelum and it seemed he might try to attack the other. But instead, his tail flicked around, brushing gently over the top of Caelum's head. Thanks, runt. he growled in mindspeak, sounding both amused...and actually grateful, and then he turned to Tanae.

Kolan let the other adjust to him a moment before reaching his tail around, scooping the other up as he laid down, curling up and bringing Tanae to his warm, smooth side curled up against him and surrounding by his tail. You can rest with me... he growled gruffly, but not unkindly...he had a soft spot for those that had suffered things similar to him..being imprisoned..tortured..treated like an animal...Kolan had a horrible temper and withdrew often...but he would never fail to help someone in need...

Kolan's gaze slid to his cousin. You and...Ralver may sleep beside me...if you..want truth be told, he wanted his cousin close and the little halfling was growing on him..

Kalenem watched as Caelum became human, smiling before setting a hand on his shoulder. "Welcome back, Cae. Now get to bed, before you bite my head off." he joked lightly, sitting down before laying down beside the little makeshift bed he'd had last night, minus Caelum's dragon tail. He left the bed open for Caelum, assuming he'd be more comfortable on that and that he might not wish to share these days.

The sand dragon shook his head and blinked before following the other's gaze. Back to the white dragon. He glanced back at Ralver and tilted his head. He blinked a few times before continuing to walk. There wasn't any point in questioning Ralver about the relationship between them. They hadn't been particularly well aquainted to begin with, Ralver and his brother.

He did wonder a little how the white dragon was taking the sudden appearance of a blood relative in his life--Kovark didn't think that any of Ralver's attempts to bond with go smoothly. Caelum had lived without Ralver for a long time. He might not appreciate being judged by another. Especially someone like his long lost brother suddenly dropping in after so long.

Tanae blinked a few times as he was set down on the ground of the cave. He stared at the other, unsure of what to do. It surprised him a little that the man carrying him had been a dragon. Why hadn't he shifted earlier? But then... Kolan had said...let him shift. That would mean... One couldn't be a dragon when the other was. That...kind of sucked. How did that happen?

He stiffened for a moment and then relaxed when he was curled against the fire dragon. That was familiar. It was safe and full of all the memories, snuggled against a dragon. He mumbled softly, something like what he'd whispered when he was small and trapped in the same cell as a dragon. Though most of the time they were forced to stay in their human form...

Caelum glared at Kolan, his serpentine eye's pupils flattening into a thin line. He didn't particularly take to being called a runt. He sighed and turned to Kalenem. "Bed is good." He walked over the makeshift bed, glancing at Kalenem before sliding into the bed before pulling the other into bed with him, wrapping his arms around the other and holding him close. He didn't feel like letting Kalenem out of his sight or reach because of all those years apart. He nuzzled his friend, spooned together in bed.

(They can be dragons at the same time, it's just that the only time that Caelum can change himself human is when Kolan is a dragon. >: D)

Kalenem found himself pulled close, held by the other and nuzzled. His eyes widened in surprise before he smiled, snuggling up against the other and wrapping his arms around Caelum's. "It's good to have you back, Cae." he whispered.

Ralver noted the scene and didn't want to interrupt, but he'd noted the other's anger at his interference with Kolan earlier and he called over. "Have a good rest, brother. Later I hope you'll be kind enough to show my party to the nearest river, we're a bit dirty from travel and I would hate to offend your sensitive nose." he joked, hoping that the mixture of affection, humor, and practicality might suit the other and with that, he heard Kolan speaking to him and Kovark and he smiled.

Ralver flashed a brighter one at Kovark, pleased for his dragonsire's sake, knowing how much he wanted to heal his little cousin. Kolandarum deserved some happiness and he'd stood by Kovark and Allira when no one else would, saved them. Ralver headed over and sat down against the wall by Kolan and his new, ah, friend-curling up with an arm folded under his head to sleep, not certain if Kovark-his usual bed, was going to shift or stay human.

Kolan had heard the mumbling and his dragonic brow furrowed...why did that tug his memory, why was the other so familiar? He lowered his snout after brushing it very lightly against the boy's head, watching his cousin and his partner. "Sleep well.." he muttered, eyeing them a moment before closing his bright eyes.

~The next morning~

They had all been tired it seemed, for they'd slept on till night and then past it, to the morning and the morning light.

Kalenem stirred, eyes cracking open a moment and he jumped, a bit taken aback by the surroundings before he looked down and found arms around him..that was right, Caelum...and he was still an elf, even in the morning, thanks to being Bound with Kolan...knowing that it had been five years since Caelum had seen the morning sun as a man, he tugged from the other's arms and pulled at them, and wanting no one else to wake up, spoke into his mind.

You're still an elf, Caelum! You weren't forced to change...come and greet the sun with me, old friend. Kalenem said, excited and happy for the other, to share in this with Caelum, to have his best friend back.

(( Oh~
I thought that one always had to be a human and one a dragon. ))

Kovark blinked at the scene between Kalenem and Caelum. Odd... Did all humans act like that. He stared at the pair before walking over to Ralver. He didn't shift as there wasn't exactly that much room for him to do so. The treasures and his cousin being a dragon minimized the room avaliable. True, there was theoretically enough room but two dragons sharing a cave of this size? It would be more than a little awkward. So he instead sat by Kolan, using his dear cousin as a bed.

Morning was not something that he looked forward to. And Kalenem's attempts at waking him up weren't welcome. Caelum groaned at his friend's attempts to wake him, wanting nothing more than to continue sleeping. He mumbled sleepily and tightened his grip on the other. "Too early..."

(XD Either way XD)

Kolan had, sometime during the night, extended his scaly 'arm' and brought Kovark and Ralver close, his snout resting lightly beside their legs and his 'arm' around them. As the elves began to stir, he gave a low growl in the back of his throat and blinked awake, looking to his cousin and his cousin's partner and then Tanae, realizing he'd slept more or less snuggled up to them all. Or vice versa, either way... "Alright, alright, wake up." he grumbled loudly to the trio.

Ralver jerked awake, a bit surprised, and then found Kolan frowning dragonishly down at them. He realized he was nestled against...Kolan's arm and smiled brightly. "Aww...you kept us warm since Kovark didn't shift..thank you, Kolan."

Kolan made a choked noise and the distinct impression that he'd be blushing if he were in human form was given. "Just get up.." he mumbled, tilting his head away embarrassedly.

Kalenem heard his friend groan and tighten his grip. He smiled, loving the closeness but wanting Caelum to see. "Cae, you're not a dragon and the morning's come. Look with me." he said, brushing a hand against the other's cheek with a smile, tempted to kiss him...but no, the other didn't love him like that, he'd said...Kalenem didn't want to ruin the moment.

[[ Ah~ ]]

Tanae mumbled, cuddling up against Kolan rather than waking up. He didn't feel like opening his eyes. So he slept on in spite of the shifting. The siren sighed softly in his sleep, mumbling under his breathe. It was the most comfortable he'd been since...well, before he'd been caught by humans. And he didn't remember that part of his life very well.

On the other hand, Kovark woke up. He smirked at he watched Ralver tease Kolan. It was...kind of Caelum to allow the other to shift into a dragon. He didn't move but only observered the others. He wasn't about to get up for anything just yet.

"Too early..." Kalenem muttered. He held the other a little closer but he did sit up eventually, though not letting go of his friend. In fact, he was being a bit of a sleepy bear, leaning almost all of his weight onto the other.

Kolan stiffened as Tanae mumbled and cuddled against him as opposed to moving. "Hey. Boy. Wake up." he growled, the tip of his tail brushing over Tanae, but still the boy slept on and cuddled into him and his eyes widened before they slid over to Kovark as if for help. "He's..he's snuggling into my tail!" he hissed.

Ralver looked dangerously close to bursting into full on laughter and Kolan, seeming to realize this, shot him a dark look although-somewhat surprisingly-Kolan still hadn't dumped the other off or fire ball-ed him or any such thing..he seemed not to know how to handle this trust and affection towards him. The obvious comfort.

Kalenem sighed at that. "Caelum...I'm going to kick you.." he muttered. And finally the other sat up, only to lean rather heavily on him and he struggled to support his friend a moment, hefting him up a bit as he held onto the other. "Cae...you're you..." he spoke softly, brushing his lips against Caelum's cheek, pretending that it was a brotherly kiss when he knew full well that he wanted something else.

Kovark smirked as he watched the siren snuggle into Kolan. That was one sight he had never ever expected to see. Kolan, the way he was now, wasn't the type anyone could really snuggle against. "And?" He asked his cousin. "What would you like us to do? I Think we should let him sleep for a while longer." Which, of course, meant that Tanae would snuggle against Kolan a little longer.

And Tanae slept on throughout all of this.

Caelum mumbled, clearly wanting to go back to bed. Kalenem knew that Caelum hated mornings. He sighed and leaned even more against his friend. His eyes flickered underneath his lids when he felt the other's lips on his cheek. Caelum hugged Kalenem tight. He nuzzled into Kalenem's shoulder and started to nibble on it.

...Caelum was hungry.

Kolan gave something like a whimper crossed with a growl at his brother's words. You're an a**... he growled grumpily, but without venom as he looked to Tanae before twisting the tip of his tail to poke the sleeping boy. "Wake up, boy." he growled. "I'm not a damned pillow." he grumbled, even though he'd put the boy there in the first place.

Kalenem knew that his best friend wasn't a morning person, but this was exciting...it was taking a step in the right direction towards freeing Caelum. He found himself leaned against by the other, held tight and then nibbled on. Kalenem had nuzzled back a moment before he grimaced as he was nibbled on and he began squirming to try and get out of Caelum's grasp. "Cae...I am not your breakfast. If you want breakfast, wake your elven butt up." Kalenem said, ruffling his best friend's hair with a soft smile.

Kovark just shrugged and stood up, poking Ralver. "Maybe you should ask your brother about cleaning up now." Gods knew that they all could use a bath. Especially Kolan's new limpet. Who knew what the boy had to go through?

A sigh escaped his lips when he noticed that Kolan was still trying to wake up the boy. "Maybe you should find a lake to drop him into..." Kovark bet that any body of water would be welcome for the Siren. Considering that the boy had been in a human-like form, it was possible that he hadn't had any chances to be his true self.

An irritated string of mumbles came out of Caelum's mouth before he slowly opened his eyes and looked down at Kalenem. "..." The man blinked and looked to the cave entrance, though he didn't let go of his friend. "Kalenem, did anyone come with you or Ralver?" Caelum thought he could smell someone cooking. But it might just be his imagination.

Throughout all of this, Tanae slept on, burrowing further into Kolan.
