Is anyone else out there really irritated by the awful things seen in some Gaia mini-shops? I'm talking about the wishlists and the bump signs made in paint, and the like. And the worse thing is that these people and their customers don't even know how bad the products are! Maybe I'm just being mean, but man oh man does it bother me.
What say you?

In my opinion some of the minishops are kinda *coughs* but on the other hand "SOME" is art that unique in its own way. It really would depend on what type of art a person is looking for. 3nodding

Hrmm... I don't like the crappy art, but I can't deny that it has a right to exist. And be payed for even, so long as the purchaser knows what they're getting themselves into. Some people just don't have a lot of talent but need some gold, and the amount of crappy sigs around shows that there is a market for it.
Just like with anything, you can pay almost nothing for something crappy, or you can spend all your gold on something amazing that someone's actually spent time on. It really is just up to the consumers.

I agree that a lot of the art used in those isn't that great and that people that buy it are wasting their gold, but that's my opinion. I guess if somebody perceives the art to be worth their gold then that's up to them. I think the prices reflect the final product and people, I would hope, realize this...

I do agree. I guess it matters that if the person likes the artist's work than it is alright. I have seen some nice suff on there, but not too frequantly. I would think a lot of the shop owners listed first are newbies to making the art and such.

I agree.
Good, earned gold spent on blurry, red-ish, jpg images or bmp images that take up a lot of space. =/
Not to mention cut and paste parts that were from stolen images. gonk

Some cut and paste stuff is good. Mah siggeh. I use SigX, put a paid drawing in a frame, and made an image map. Just 500x500px.
