Alot of people dis trance/dance/techno but there is some really good stuff out there, I can't deny that I like some of it. But being a keyboardist what can I say?
I play mostly classical so the first few times I went in looking at all the keyboards at the local music shop the guys there were trying to get me to buy a piano instead. But the keyboard is my instrument, I love the piano but I've no interest in buying one. The keyboard I've decided to buy, I'm purchasing so not only will the sound quality of my classical be improved but also so that I can move into synth.
I can't stand it when I hear remixes of Fur Elise and other well known pieces stressed (especially that bloody speed over Beethoven song on DDR) But I can appreciate artists pushing the limits of their instruments, even if it means turning to electronics to achieve a certain effect. I love the violin, but an electric violin played by the right person is absolutely brilliant. Although, looking at the poll in this thread, I have to say I prefer your original bass over an electric bass guitar...
It's a shame that so many people have such a negative opinion on such a large music genre... It's also a shame that it's so difficult to find something truly original within the genre xp
