Giselle nodded at Soyala's wisdom. "That's really smart of you. It'll be better for your pack when you start one if you know the lay of the land and all." She said smiling, "You're the first Helix I've come across.... other than Melpomene. With my looks I guess it is a surprise."
She nodded once more and smiled kindly. "Yeah it is nice to finally meet someone else. Melpomene is always such a drag." She said sighing, "Yeah I've been doing alright on my own. It's just lonely. There's no one to talk to or play with."

Soyala's mind was quietly turning, her instincts leading her to make an important decision.
"Melpomene? I can't say I've met anyone by that name myself," she murmured, thoughtful. "However, I might have a proposition for you. The decision is completely up to you, of course, but...what would you say to traveling with me? Two together are better than one, both for hunting and for relieving loneliness. Saying yes doesn't mean you have to join my pack or anything either, but...the invitation is open for that as well if you're interested..."
The Alpha trailed off with a kindly smile, her invitation laid out at last. Already, Giselle had proven herself to be respectful and reliable in a pinch. Also, she herself had admitted to being lonely...
That was more than enough reason for Soyala to give her a chance. Not to mention...the Alpha had been growing rather lonely herself as of late...

Giselle nodded. "Be glad you haven't met the doom and gloom one." She said with a groan, "It's all she ever does is make herself and others all sad." Her ears pricked at Soyala's offer and her tail began to slowly wag. "Really?! You mean that?" She asked her eyes growing big, "I would love to travel with you and join your pack when you get it going!" She was already hopping up and down in excitement.

Soyala let an amused grin cross her muzzle. The young one's enthusiasm was quite contageous, even if she wasn't about to let herself start fidgeting as well. Tempting as it might be.
"We'll worry about pack issues later on. For now, it will be nice simply to have a travel companion to keep each other company."
Already, Soyala's mind was thinking ahead. Far ahead, considering her exact line of thought. Eventually, her pack would need a pup sitter. For some reason, she thought Giselle might relish the job.

Giselle smiled and bounced around Soyala. "YAY! I found a pack and a companion!" She cheered happily. She sat down in front of Soyala but couldn't keep still. "I so want to hug you right now..... but I don't think that's something I should do." She said wagging her tail, "So where are we going to to go now?"

Soyala chuckled softly, unable to keep up her normally cool demeanor around this young one. She was almost like a pup herself all of a sudden. Yes, definitely keeping that thought in mind for a future pup sitter...
"I don't know about a hug," she commented, sounding amused, "but I think I appreciate the restraint. For now, if we're finished eating, I'm sure we're set for a while. Perhaps a rest and a drink before the sun sinks in the sky. When it grows cooler, we can set out to find a good place to spend the night."
Finishing, the Alpha stood and padded over towards the other female with a smile. Maybe it wasn't a hug, but...she gave her new companion and future pack member a slight nudge of affection.
For some reason, Soyala figured that days would fail to be quite so quiet or boring from now on...

Giselle grinned and laughed. "Yeah.... That's what I thought." She said nodding, "Sounds like a plan. I'll probably end up running around the area while we wait for night." She really smiled when Soyala nudged her. She gently nudged her back and wagged her tail. "This is going to be so much fun!"

"Indeed. Certainly better than being alone on all accounts."
With a final nudge, the Alpha turned away. "Of course, you may do as you wish. As for myself, I think a drink and a nap in the shade sounds wonderful after such a filling meal."
Tail swishing calmly behind her, the snow leopard Alpha headed off towards the nearest watering hole, the scent strong to her senses. She'd leave Giselle to do what she wanted; she was free to follow or go on her own for a while.

Giselle nearly barked with glee. "A drink does sound good." She said bounding after the Alpha. She was still bounding like a gazelle and easily passed Soyala. She stopped and then looked back smiling. "Oh how I want to race." She said dreamily, "I love running super fast." Her tail swished from side to side as she began to bound again.

Soyala watched, chuckling softly to herself. "So I've noticed, young one. I'm not sure I have quite your level of energy, but..." She aimed a pointed look at Giselle, a slight twinkle in her eye. "Perhaps, later tonight after the sun goes down, I can give you a little competition while on our search for a place to stay."
For now, the Alpha was aiming to conserve her energy while the heat of the day was still at its worst. At night, however, when it was cooler...she might be able to afford to waste a little energy in the name of fun. Especially after such a filling meal today.

Giselle stopped dead in her tracks and stared at Soyala. "You have to be the coolest leader ever!" She declared after a minute. With that she ran around the Alpha before dashing towards the watering hole.
After racing there Giselle wasn't able to stop in time and ended up running straight into the water. She took a big drink and then walked back to the grass. She shook herself and then laid out in the sun. "There I should dry off now."

Soyala approached the watering hole, tail swishing slowly with amusement. "Well, that is one way to save time. Combining getting a drink and getting a bath." She bent her head to get a drink, then glanced up.
Oh, why not?
Covering a grin, the Alpha padded into the water, reaching a certain depth before lying down to submerge herself in the refreshing water. The water felt wonderful, but she could only hold her breath for so long before standing again. She shook water droplets in all directions as she set foot back on land.
"Sadly, with this heat, it doesn't take long at all to dry around here," she commented, stretching and lying comfortably at the water's edge.

Giselle smiled in delight at Soyala. "You know I didn't think of it that way!" She said with a small laugh, "It does save time but the heat doesn't make you stay wet for long. Look I'm already dried..... well for the most part." She stood up and flicked her tail to the side. "I'm still too energized to take a nap." She said sighing.

Soyala watched with a smile, chuckling and shaking her head at the other female. "I'm afraid I'm going to need that nap just to keep up with you this evening, young one. We'll head out later when it's cooler, so if you want to go running for now, that's fine by me. Just save some of that for later too, alright?"
With a brief wink, the Alpha stretched once more before yawning and laying her head on her paws, tail flipping lightly in the dust before settling just near the edge of the water. Her eyes closed, though her ears still twitched slightly from time to time.

Giselle watched as Soyala fell asleep. She stood up and then began running around the watering hole going out further with each lap.
After many laps Giselle finally began to feel tired and walked back to where Soyala is. She laid down in the grass and fell asleep.
