I'm not sure about cat ears, but kwik sew has a pattern for hats with bunny/rat ears here. I suppose just changing the ears wouldn't be too difficult, the main body of the hat is hardest to shape.

I have made several sets of kitty ears but on the little hair holders that look like combs....I am spazing right now and cant think of what they are called. But if you take a small square of plush fabric like 3" x 3" and take the top corners and fold them onto themselves pulling one side slightly farther under one side and kind of tucking the over hangings 1/4" in on its self so the edge wont show. then cut up the bottom so the ear is how you want it scrunch the bottom a little to give the ear shape, then sew the bottom to the hair comb. Lather. Rinse. Repeat, and you have kitty ears! I will try to post a picture of some ive made but I always lose them >.< Im sure I have one lying around somewhere and I hope this helps!!!
It is super easy and they come out super cute!! Good Luck! biggrin

I made one *years* ago and made my own pattern..

..if I knew where it was I'd scan it for you D:

Sorry.

Just draw around half a dinner plate.. elongate it a bit (so that it transforms to more of an oval shape). Then draw 1 cat ear -draw around it to make it bigger (to leave room for stitching)..and there you go! Should work. That's pretty much what I did :]

*that tutorial has long been a favorite of mine for making hats. it's a really simple pattern and it looks really nice when wearing it. you'll have to figure out the ears on your own though, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Old thread, but I'll post some advice anyway, even though you've probably figured all this out on your own by now... smile

This one's actually a lovely pattern, and the one I've used for most of the animal hats I've made. Cat ears aren't difficult-- basically, all you need to do to make one ear is cut out two half-circles of fleece (they can be the same color or, if you want the inside of the ear to be lighter, they can be different colors.) Then you pin them together, with the "good" sides facing inward, and stitch along the curved edge. Flip the whole thing right-side-out, fold it in half, and you've got an ear!

Putting them on the hat can be a little trickier. Basically, you follow the hat tutorial until you get to the part where you sew the two halves of the hat together. It'll take some figuring out, but you want to sew the ears into this seam, rather than just stitching them on the top. Again, since your hat is inside-out at this point, it'll take some work to get them facing the right direction and in the right place, but it's not too difficult.

Best of luck! Feel free to PM me if you need any help (I know my directions weren't too clear...)

Agreed, I've used that tutorial many many times. <333
