Though I still don't know the quality of the silvertone, my new Q (srry about all them) is amp related. buying the ESP would leave me little (maybe $100) for an amp. Can I get a good one for that price, and if not, will that spoil the sound of my good guitar? I might add that I may soon be getting a Boss ML-2 Metal Core Distortion pedal.

My suggestion would be to buy the ESP rather then the Silvertone. Then keep whatever amp you have now, until you can afford something better.
When it comes to Amps that are cheap and affective, I like Hartke, I own a 100 watt head by them, and a 50 watt bass amp. They sound good enough by themself, and if you can get a few pedals, they really scream.

100 watts... my SP-10 is 22 and I don't turn it pass 2 (I only use it for playing in my room or recording). My budget is bigger than I thought, (maybe $200) so now I've been looking at cooler amps. But this brings another Q: Is it worth buying expensive amps w/ effects? I was looking at the Peavey Vypyr 30 30W 1x12 and the Line 6 Spider III 30 30W 1x12 which both had what looked liked pretty good distortion, but if I'm gonna get that ML-2 pedal anyway, is it worth spending $200 for the amp (though you then get all the other sweet effects (i.e. flanger, echo, etc.))? I just need opinions.

I don't know about those amps (aside from the Line 6) but definately go with the ML-2 Metalcore pedal. It's amazing and you'll get a better distortion out of that then the Line 6. Peavey, as far as I know, doesn't have distortion on the amps... but i'm uneducated on Peavey amps.

I have a Marshall with effects that I don't really use. Effects, for me, aren't really needed except Wah... and Wah is just needed sometimes. I only really use Flanger when i'm messing around with a song on a clean channel, and delay when I just want to mess around.

Oh! And by the way, if you do get the ML-2 Metalcore, always play on the clean channel. It has a weird sound if you play on the distortion channel... just thought you should know, in case you didn't.
