I can hardly make sense of this keyboard so I am sure I will be here for a long while. It makes me question my knowledge of this english. I have been taught this language as a child and can write perfectly well. But I have never seen one of these 'computers' or 'keyboards' until today.

In any case, Hello to the Terrans who can see what I am typing. I hear whatever is found on this Internet can be seen by anyone, but I do not know how anyone will manage to find this. I am attracting enough attention in this library as it is, however. It is as if these Terrans have never seen a girl with red hair before. Well, of course you do not. Your idea of 'red hair' is orange. Is your eyesight failing you all?

It is odd that my voice hardly suprises anybody. Perhaps this land is used to hearing foriegn tongues? I do not know, but it seems I must not share my nationality with those who ask. I was told before coming here to avoid giving such information. My father and my neighbors fear a panic among Terrans, I understand. But I wanted so much to see this place.

The cities are so much greater than my own native city. And there is this electricity everywhere! I remember when my father left for a Terran country (I believe it was named England?) and brought back gifts for me and the neighbor's son. I am wearing the clothes he brought back for me, but they are now worn and old. I still have the music player he gave me, but I no longer have the 'batteries' to make it work. It is a shame, I must find some more. But you Terrans have power to make anything you desire to work. How fortunate.

I can not bear to see the misspellings in what I have written, but I am somewhat more comfortable with typing. The woman next to me is typing so quickly, with all her fingers! I must learn to do that someday.

So many books here. I have read a few of them before, when my neighbor visited a country called America (where I am now) and brought some back for his son and for me. A few were interesting, but I was always partial to the words Terran musicians would write, like what my father would bring for me. I learned much of my English from reading those. I do enjoy singing them as well. Most people I know have never heard much of the Terran music.

If anyone can see this, fare well. How does one finish one of these journals?
