Trombone Hero Well clearly flute takes a lot of air, and I know tuba takes a lot of air. But me being a loud trombone player, and knowing baritone/tuba fingerings, I like baritone better because it allows playing louder easier, you just have to move your fingers and you don't strain your shoulders. And I think on baritone the valves are smaller and slightly closer together, which means you dont have to strain to play stuff with 3rd valve (like C (1 and 3)or F#(2 and 3)). But I do like baritone better than tuba for playing ability but I like tuba better because of sound, because I love playing low. About the Baritone, I think somebody is playing it.I think. I wanted to play Baritone before trombone, but I knew my grandma wold say no...Thats offtopic, anyways, if we do have a baritone player for Symphonic band, my band director could either say Yes or No.. But I really like the low sound of a Tuba, Baritone is nice, but I like Tuba A LOT better. I don't know, I'll discuss this with my band director. :]

I'm a t-bone marching and a b-tone concert,(except freshman year, senior year, and grade school) with a b-tone grade school+tuba/sousa high school bro. i've seen many instrument changers and their all happy with their changes.
t-bone= hurting shoulder b-tone= hurting shoulder muscles sousa= spine damage your choice all are fun, never lose the fun in band or you'll become antiband which is a bad thing evil
P.S. low brass section leader heart the b-tones and sousas

Especially the left, because thats where the instrument is held. I know. I really enjoy band.

There's a short kid that plays the tuba at my school, so you could play the tuba. Still, I haven't touched a tuba, so what do I know? XD I play flute!

TUBA!!! It hurts for a while but it is totally worth it. I played tuba in a marching band for 4 years and they were the best years ever. And these were not sousaphones the were convertible tubas and were twice as heavy.

My band director said I'm very good on Lower notes, but he wants me to first learn Trombone, and maybe Tuba next year. Convertible Tubas...Aren't they like Contrabass Bugles? The Contra. Bugle is held on the shoulder...I kinow the Convertible tuba can be either for Marching or Concert.

Hey.
I tried a Tuba. I may just go ahead and do Tuba and Trombone for our Spring concert...I can do that...I mean, in 6th grade band, they have a boy who plays both Flute AND percussion....Why can't I???? [I'm not in 6th grade! xD]
Baritone is too similar to trombone..And we may have a baritone player.

i play trombone the flute and the piano and i think that the baritone is pretty cool but you need to take the whole band into consideration. if you already have some baritones but not many tubas you should go for tuba and vise versa. but you should just do what you think is best.
