 Doing his usual lounging around, Teo gave a small rumble as he stirred in his small feather bed. The sun's rays sent the last of their warmth as the orb began to dip from view below the mountains on the horizon.
One golden eye sparkled as its lid slowly slid open, Evening already? His paws stretched out as he extended his limbs, trying to shake the sleep off. A loud rumble purred from the blue male's throat as he began to stand, eyes looking around the village. All's quiet, as usual.. He lowered his head slightly, looking towards the small rocks by his feet. What should I do tonight? The usual? His mind drifted to the images of the ocean water slowly rolling along the shore... Too many nights of that seemed to get boring; he began to wonder why no other balam roamed close to the village. Did they not like it there? Were there any others? Of course, there had to be. ...But he had only ever seen one other..Well, besides the two cubs he watched over, but they were different.
He gave a small sigh, quietly weighing his options.

 As the sun shrank away to hide behind the mountains, underneath the horizon, most of the jungle's inhabitants settled off to sleep. Kiichipan was one of those who was getting comfortable in her bed of rushes, feathers, and other gentle-soft things gathered from the surrounding jungle. She stretched out, the end of her tail hanging over the edge of her bed, twitching slowly back and forth.
But, no matter how comfortable she attempted to become, the female could not settle in to sleep. It eluded her, dancing at the edges of her mind, teasing and taunting her. Kiichipan growled irritably, gathering her legs underneath her and half-sitting up to scan the surrounding area. Forget the fact that it was nighttime, and she was more than content to doze off for the night. It just wasn't going to happen. Adding to her irritation was the fact that she had no company, no one to help her pass the time. She was a lone B'alam, as far as she knew. Heaving a sigh of frustration, Kiichipan rolled onto her side, feet sticking out stick-straight, paws hanging off the edge of her nest-bed. Her head, too, hung out, and she peered upside-down at the depths of the jungle that surrounded her.
Maybe she'd get lucky and someone would just appear to keep her company? Kiichipan snorted and laughed. Maybe if I were dreaming, she thought and sighed once more.

Well, maybe the jungle is best? Teo raised his head in hope; he had never been in the jungle before, well, besides that one occasion to go rolling in some mud. His mind stirred. Didn't he...meet someone that day? The male tried his best to recall the image of the other b'alam...but it stayed hidden in a cloudy haze.
"Bah," he gave up trying to remember. What did it matter now? 'S not like he kept in contact with others like him. A rogue wanting something more... He snorted, pushing his thoughts aside as he started to head towards the dense trees in the distance.

The cool smell of moistened vegetation entered Teo's pink nostrils as he moved closer to the jungle. Standing before the tall wall of trees he thought; why hadn't he ever gone into the jungle? He had to have come from someplace, right? What if...he came from somewhere els-- "No, no more thinking, it only slows me down." And with that he leapt through the mass of leaves, leaving his thoughts at the jungle entrance before they had a chance to catch up with and hold him back.
It was a good thing Teo was used to the dark night sky, hardly any light could be found within this dank place! He blinked. At least there's a bit of moonlight. He turned his maw to towards the sky; some radiant light from the nearly full moon managed to find its way between the leaves of the towering trees, illuminating parts of the jungle floor for Teo's curiousity.
Taking a quick look around he noticed a strange mass of leaves and underbrush not too far. He cocked his head staring at the unknown messy bed as he crept silently forward. Nose extended he sniffed lightly, what was this? It was something...furry?!
