smart marks are not a wrestling term. it was first used in the 1960's to insane beatles and elvis fans who didn't like him doing something new and acted like it was what the singers are talking about in real life.
this is what happend here. those idiots prolly listened to some of the albums from ICP, Esham, Twiztid, Eminem, and AMB and and thought "hey maybe it's the truth we should do the same they'll be so proud of us man. look at that jesse james hollywood dude..he's famous. they even made a movie about it" so yea. to summon all that up. they were acting like your typical normel smart marks. the kind that give people like myself, evil, des, naad, and funk a bad name.
