This is what I`m referring to.
Hullo, Guild. :]
Well, I have a couple of questions.
Final Fantasy Anthology was released a while ago, and in the US, where I am, it includes Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI, both of which I don't own and would like to play. Also, more recently, V and VI were both released on the GBA.
So, here's my question. Are the games better separately on the GBA or together on the PS?
I'm veryveryvery sorry if this doesn't go in the main forum. sweatdrop

I only have the Nintendo and GBA versions, but I remember playing the Playstation version (only of VI.) There was only CG in the beginning and ending, and they didn't really 'remake' the game, in the sense that the gameplay graphics are the exact same as the GBA version. If you've never played either game though, I'd definitely choose both for PS over getting them separate for GBA.
(Oh, and Omake Mode is a bonus. 8D)

I'd actually suggest getting the GBA versions. It's handy that they're portable, and it's relatively better graphics, if only because it's on a smaller screen. They fixed some bugs, and they only added new stuff, keeping everything else the same... except for the translation, but that's actually more accurate in the GBA version, from what I've heard.

I know that the PS version has a better translation that the SNES version...at least when it comes to FF6... I think I read somewhere that the GBA version are an even BETTER translation. I know they changed some of the esper names...like Stray is now Cait Sith. eek
How much better can it get? whee

I've played both the PSone and GBA versions and I liked the GBA version better. PSone version was basically the same game as the original with a couple FMVs added. GBA version has bonus dungeons and extra bosses.

As far as FFVI is concerned, I've only played the original and the GBA, and I grew up with the original, but I actually prefer the GBA version, in truth. I prefer its translation, it has a slightly larger arsenal of spells and weapons, and the bonus dungeons are definitely worth it. ^_^ Also, when you beat the GBA one, you gain access to a music player that lets you listen to one of the best FF scores that we've heard since FF's inception (I'm a sucker for IV and VI's scores). That part alone was enough to make me want to get it, plus the idea of the bonus dungeons, and as hard as those were, it was worth it when I beat them. So, considering I actually grew up with FFVI (I first played it at 5 years old, and I'm 20 now), I would seriously suggest getting the GBA version.

I only own the PS version of both of them, and the only thing I find bothersome is the fact that if you gotta go into the menu often, you'll be dealing with a lot of load times. Other than that, I really like the PS version. Plus I am able to port my PS version onto my psp myself which is pretty nice.
GBA version is good only for the bonus dungeons really. I would like to play for the challenge. FFI and II was really fun going through the bonus stuff.
