Who here plays a musical instrument?
I played the flute for a few years while in school. I have a friend that has promised to give me her old flute so I can play again but I haven't gotten around to actually getting it. In the meanwhile I've been tempted just to buy a wooden Irish flute off ebay. So pretty.. they are.
I also randomly try to learn the guitar. Well I know the basics, but I don't actually practice enough to learn how to play.

My boyfriend knows the guitar. He doesn't play often, so when he does the strings hurt his little baby fingers.
I used to play the clarinet and I have an oboe. My music teacher said she would teach me the oboe, but she never did. That was very sad, it's a beautiful instrument.

Yeah for the longest time I had one string that had snapped so I didn't around to re-stringing my guitar until yesterday. Today I was practicing the scales on each of the strings and the tips of my fingers are sore now. haha. xp

I did the clarinet for 3 years (grade 6-8 ) I played the flute for 1 year (grade 10)
I hate musical instruments, and i hated band class. My mom forced me to do it. Even though i was like 2nd to LAST chair..

What made you restring today? Thanks to this thread, I decided I wanted my clarinet back. So I wrote to my mother to get all my things back. I miss my clarinet.
Pixie - I loved band class. Though, I was in the "unpopular" group and there was always a fight because the "popular" clarinet-ers said they deserved A Sheets then B Sheets because they were popular. Bleh. I still got a 98% in the class and was the first to hit the high notes. I rock.

I honestly have no idea where there's a proper music store around here. sweatdrop

Piercedpixie; I despised band classes as well, haha. I just drew during those periods until I switched into an art class.
I used to play violin, I miss that and I think I want to take it up again. Or cello, I love that instrument.
Then I learned flute and played it for several years until I decided I simply hated it too much to continue; therefore giving the darned thing to my younger cousin. =) However, it's a beautiful instrument, and listening to Ian Anderson makes me want to relearn it sometimes.
Finally, I learned guitar some years ago and I love it. <3 Since then I've experimented - minimally - with drumset and bass as well.
Not to mention I enjoy singing more than any instrument I've learned. :]

I've flirted with a variety of instruments, but I can't read music fluently so I've never gotten very far with the ones that are taken seriously.
I enjoy the piano a lot ^^ I memorize the songs I like and that's how I play xd
My favorites, other than that, are as follows:
Tambourine Zils Maracas Spoons heart Recorder (when I was a little kid) Drums and voice! whee

I've always wanted to play something---nearly everyone else in my family plays an instrument or two. I have really enjoyed listening to them through the years. Maybe one day I'll drag out the keyboard and the books and give it a shot. In my spare time-----!
