House :Ravenclaw
Year :Seventh
Familiar : Her black labrador seeing-eye dog
Gender : F
Age : 17
Ethnicity :Caucasian
Appearance :She is mostly unremarkable, her features and body are just average and forgettable. However she does have long white wavy hair and her eyes are milky white due to her blindness.
Origins : Was born in Australia and spent most of her childhood growing up there, however when she was eight her family moved to England to be closer to her grandparents. She is a witch through her mothers side of the family.
Personality Quirks : For starters she was born blind. Nothing Muggle nor magical could fix them so she remains sightless. Up until she was fifteen she used a stick to navigate. Even though she now has her dog she still carries the stick as a tool to whack people she doesn't like "accidently". Her hearing is very sharp to compensate for her blindness. She knows how to read Braille, and with the help of her mother developed a spell to turn writing into Braille temporarily so that she could read anything she wanted. She likes to feel different textures, she has a box filled with small stones, pieces of fur, bits of leather, pieces of paper and other things that she likes to run her fingers over. She is of course intelligent and sharp with a good memory. She is not to keen on doing practical wandwork, especially the ones requiring precise and certain movements, because she either usually misses her target or blows something up. She is s**t scared of flying.
She was eleven and was in her Charms class eagerly awaiting her first lesson. Her hand was gripped tightly around her wand in excitement as she listened to her teacher give instructions on how to do the levitation spell. The teacher started to call the students names so that they could demonstrate. She could hear the gasps and mutterings of the other students as they made successful attempts, and the small groans of dissapointment from those who failed. Finally her name was called.
"Kasandra Niveus"
With a grin she raised her wand and moved her hand in what she hoped was the right amount of swish and flick and said the words.
"Wingardium Leviosa"
Some highly developed sense of self-preservation made her duck under the desk when she heard the slight sizzling sound that came a moment before the resounding BOOM of an explosion. A few moments later her head came back over the edge of her desk, a very sheepish expression on her face. With her hands she groped around her desk until she reached the edge and very deliberately placed her wand down. She didn't touch it for the rest of the lesson.
