Executioner is actually viable on prot warrior weapons, btw. smile
It's used on "trash" weapons (weapons used for fighting trash) for better threat generation.

Okay tards, lissen up.
Executioner is an enchant that procs maybe once a pull and allows you to ignore 840 armour for 10 seconds.
DAMAGE = THREAT. THREAT = DAMAGE. Threat is also gotten by abilities like Devastate and Shield Slam, but the more dps you can turn out, the easier it is to hold aggro. This is why its possible to tank with a 2h (but generally not a good idea later on in the game). Having a shield does not automatically give you a bagillion aggroez omg.
When Executioner procs, I see about 100 more TPS (threat per second) than I normally get. Means I can keep the big angry things off of dumbass fire mages who open with Pyroblast for longer.
MONGOOSE is an enchant that will occasionally give me 120 agi and increase my attack speed by about 2%. Since agi = dodge for warriors, it is, again, avoidance. The extra attack speed is a tiny TPS increase, but not by much, making Mongoose primarily a 'bossfight enchant.'
The Sun Eater is a boss weapon, because of the dodge.
THEREFORE, a balance between avoidance and threat generation can be achieved by putting Executioner (once again, increased dps over avoidance) on the Sun Eater.
The King's Defender (a drop out of Kara in Chess) is more a trashmob weapon, because of its higher threat generation capabilities.
If I had both, I would carry both with me and switch out accordingly. Sun Eater would have Mongoose on it, and King's Defender would have Executioner on it. But, since I don't have King's Def yet, I have to make due and utilize what I have for all situations.
Know what you're talking about before you say anything, please.

Funny things about prot dps, it's currently the best leveling spec in WOTLK.
Hard maths from ej about exe vs mongoose.
Mongoose Enchant:
Procs 'Lightning Speed': Increases agi by 120, and increases attack speed by 2% (associative) for 15 seconds.
If mongoose procs while the Lightning Speed is up, it will simply renew the buff to 15 seconds, it will not stack.
120 agi is: 240 armor (approximately 0.79% relative DR (damage reduction), or ~0.3% raw DR) 3.6% to crit 4.0% to dodge
A warrior with 60% DR from armor, and 50% avoidance, will see an 8.8% decrease in damage due to the “Lightning Speed” Proc. [(1/(1-0.5))*4.0 + 0.79]
A warrior may assume 1.4 ppm for mongoose for 1.4*15s for 21 seconds of uptime each minute.
This means that a warrior will see on average an 8.8%*21/60 = 3.08% relative increase in damage reduction with the above gear setup.
According to the threat calculator, a mongoose proc will increase a well geared warrior’s TPS by 39. This correlates to 39*60s*(21s/60s) for 772 threat per minute or 12.9 TPS.
Executioner Enchant
Executioner increases your armor penetration by 840 for 15 seconds. The lower the boss’s armor, the more valuable armor penetration becomes. Therefore, it is a sliding scale when measuring the worth of this enchant.
This enchant will also not help in mitigation, only in threat.
This enchant has 1 ppm. This would mean the uptime is 15 seconds out of every 60 seconds, or 25% uptime.
840 armor penetration is roughly equivalent to a 5.6% DPS increase according to information posted by Kalgan.
According to the threat calculator, this comes out to just over a 6% total increase in threat for a well equipped warrior, or ~65 TPS. This would make executioner significantly better than mongoose for use on your aggro weapon.

Yay, maffs biggrin Ty Kim. The exec proc feels a lot like 100 +tps but I suppose there are a few other factors coming into play. 65 sounds about right.

Know what you're talking about before you say anything, please. p.s. executioner is actually better on higher aggro weapons (sun eater over kings defender in thise case) because those are used usually on trash or rage-starved fights to keep better aggro anyway. mongoose is more oftenly put on your mitigation weapon, increasing it's efficiency as a mitigation weapon. getting a "balance" like karn talked about is fine, but i prefer to stack mitigation enchants on mitigation weapons so they're just that much better at that particular use. mrgreen p.p.s actually, karn, kings defender is actually a mitigation weapon because of the improved chance to dodge (unless i'm remembering old numbers that they patched recently, haven't played in awhile). sun eater actually gives 2.5 more dps and a bit higher hit rating, but lower dodge if i remember correctly.

That was priceless. ='D
