Forked tongue pressed forward and back in lazy coils, tasting the air in tune with his breathing. It was a long held habit, one the lumbering Nightmare wasn't even aware of. It was only when a tang of living scent filtered through the air that his senses became conscious. Curious and lively. But for now, with nothing but the dust kicked up by his claws and the taste of dead twiggly trees, the Nightmare found no need to be very self alert.
With his beak bobbing up and down to each heavy footstep, Dardanos made his way across the wasteland. He had to admit in the back of his thoughts that the crunching sound of his paws on dried earth was...interesting. The only real sound out in this vast land. His dark spines waved across his back like dancing wind spirits, fickle and light despite their true weight. If only they could detach from their boring host and escape to better lands. Just what did the Nightmare expect to fins in this dump of dirt?

There was nothing to eat.
There were, of course, other problems inherent with being lost in the midst of a barren wasteland. The cracked soil was hard on the pads of her feet, crushed shale blunted her claws, and it was hard to scent the air when her tongue was bone dry. But all of those things paled in comparison to the cruel fact that there was nothing to eat. No juicy meat, no fibrous plants, no metal that would crackle-crunch of metal between her molars. She couldn't even find a decent-sized rock to chew on.
It was intolerable. A great, gaping abyss in her gut. Godiva would have licked the blood on her fur out of desperation, if she could have trusted herself not to gnaw on her own limbs.
The femme was about to start digging into the desolate soil, when she heard a shuffling sound, and smelled the sharp tang of fur and saliva behind her.
Hope welled up in her heart, and she bounded towards the unfortunate creature that had come upon her, not caring what race or form it took. Thank every dark and unwholesome god watching over her than the musk of her prey wasn't the same as Daddy's. In this state, Godiva didn't think she could stop herself from pursuing even him.

Large, useless ears folded back against his bone horns in a vague gesture of alertness. As if being blind wasn't difficult enough, his other physical senses were of poor quality as well. And so any reactions he took were motivated by an unphysical sense. A sixth sense, whatever it may be. Instinct, most likely. Something that not even he could ignore in his moments of dull awakeness.
Dardanos canted his head to the side as if to stare; facing the direction of thudding vibrations. Footfalls? Tendrils shook in delight to this change of the silence from before. Whatever he heard and felt, it was heavy in it's approach. Much like how his own lumbering steps sounded whenever he ran about. Interest perked but wary, Dardanos peeled open his muzzle with a domineering hiss. If anything were to be out here, live out here in this waste....it must be a hardy creature. A possible challenge, if not a dead on threat.
Catching the faint scent of blood, the Nightmare pivoted his body in a full turn with armored head at the ready. If there was any one word to describe Dardanos, it would be that he was lazy. Even in the face of being confronted....attacked?...maybe...

Godiva didn't enjoy jumping. It took her paws away from the solid earth. How was she to know that the ground would still be there when gravity pushed her back down? She liked the feeling of loam between her toes and the steady comfort of rock wrapped all around her. She did not like the cold and empty air.
And so she slid towards him in a cloud of dust and gravel, tails lashing and fangs bared.
"Hello sssssuppers!"
Supper smelled like meat. Meat meat meat. Mmmmm, meat. If Godiva was very lucky, then Supper would be scared and not run, and she would have a juicy treat! Icky bruisings ruined flavor.

[just so it's known, I don't mind if you have Godiva boss around Dardanos some. So long as it isn't full blown godmode, I'm fine with it] ^_^
Nostrils flared before snorting in rebute of the kicked up gravel. Luckily, his face was tough and boney to not be bothered greatly by the tiny rocks. Muzzle cracked open and saliva slipped through his jaws as he hissed lowly. "Sssupperss? Whatttt are you blabbering about?" The dark male twitched his brows in shallow thought. This individual's manner of speech was similiar to his own. Slurred and a deep rumble to indicate a massive frame.
Hearing the increased breathing before him, Dardanos swept his tails coolly behind him. The smell of sweat and energy mingled in the once stale air and it was something to consider for the nightmare. Just what was he to expect from this sudden stranger? With spines laying dormant at his sides, Dardanos uttered a deep rumble to state his intention to stay grounded. "Find sssupper elssewhere. I wass here firsssst."

[Good to know! :3 If I ever cross the line, you're more than welcome to drop me a PM about it. I'm always happy to change posts if people need it.]
"Nnno." Godiva vehemently shook her head, before opening her maw and grinning a very sharp grin. "Sssssilly Supper."
The femme would never be a great communicator, but she didn't really need to be. What could words convey that taste and texture couldn't? Almost nothing of consequence.
She listened for the other Kitsusagi's breathing and, when she had a reasonable idea of where his head must be, clapped a heavy claw down onto his neck. The amount of force she was using could easily press his cheek down into the dirt if he didn't fight it.
"You're sssstringy." She decided, feeling bones beneath his skin. "Where is your best fatssss?"

[heh, no worries here, since they are NM kitsu]
"Pfffft hahahaaaa-" Muzzle split open in a booming laughter, both giddy and scoffing in tone. Was he being told no? And supper? Just who the hell was this individual to be so bold and serious in her obsurd manner?
Finishing his chuckle with a hollow breath, Dardanos shook his head with with tense brows. Both from his entertainment and the stubborn issue at hand. So, she intended to eat a meal, is that right? Well she wasn't the only one. Even for a creature as hardy as a Nightmare, this dead terrain could only be of residence for so long. An unnatural breeze swept his short haired face before he grunted to a sudden weight slamming his stiff neck. The count of claws and texture of skin was enough to conclude his mute guessings. This stranger was a Nightmare like himself. As if the smell wasn't enough of a give away.
Dardanos locked his knees as he bristled up against the domineering force. "Arrogant woman." Dark fur bristled all the more, not at all open minded to being pushed around by a girl. A GIRL! As if just realizing this fact, he barked a low and offensive growling and lashed out his spines to coil tightly around Godiva's horns. "No fatss to be found here. How about tasssting that brain of yoursss? I'm sure it'll do jussst fine." May be a small meal though, huff.

If Godiva had been born with the gift of sight, she would have rolled her eyes to get a good look at the thing that had wrapped around her horns. It felt funny! Things that felt funny invariably tasted good, when they weren't too squishy.
"Hmm?" She laughed along with the male, before licking her chops with the tip of her forked tongue and wrenching her neck downwards. She didn't break free. She wasn't trying to. Instead she opened her maw wide and took a bite out of the ground, crunching rocks between her iron teeth.
For all her batty upbringing, Godiva was a Nightmare, and she knew how to threaten like one.
"Tentabcle things isssss delicatesss, like calimari," she mused, as though the male hadn't even spoke. Slivers of rock sprayed in his face as he chewed. "Easy to bitesss and tear. I hope it will not taste like stringssss."

Dardanos followed through with the downward motion, a brow quirking slightly. Sure he was offended at the moment to his discovery of the situation. But he was still a slothful individual, and wasn't of any mood to jump into a physical quarrel himself. A waste of time and energy.
Long ears lifted to a new sound after the laughter. "And what are you doing? That doessssn't sssound like brainss." His front claws flexed to the feeling of being powdered in grit. Just what mess was she causing? Though her words stirred his spines with pressure, tightening their hold. "Caaaalimari? What isss thiss calimari?" Frowning while tossing the question aside, Dardanos broadened his shoulders, forcing the other to stand straight with the tug of his spines. "Like I already sssaid, there'ss no food here."
