Heres the official annoucement from Qixters journal
Quote:
Good news! (Well...mixed news...)
Hey there, folks,
We've decided to not try to make the "end of summer" date that we've talked about for such a long time.
So...how on earth is that "good news"?
Let me tell ya. I've been making PC games for over 20 years. The number of times that I've heard a company say "take more time so the quality can be better" can be counted on...well...*less* than one hand.
We were pretty on-track for making our end of summer deadline, but then we've encountered a few technical issues that took way longer to resolve than we had hoped (like item normalization) and that really cut into our "debug and playtest" time.
Gaia doesn't want to allow us to sacrifice that portion of the process (yay for sanity!) and they've told us (not asked us) to slip the date out further.
Now...we're not insane. We're not going to slip it *that* much further out. We are still very close to launching this critter. But it will be *after* the end of summer.
You heard it here first.
