Quote:
KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds’ throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water—often while they are still conscious. It would be illegal for KFC to abuse dogs, cats, pigs, or cows in these ways.

KFC’s own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate these abuses, but KFC refuses to do so. Many advisors have now resigned in frustration.

I have tons of that propaganda from Peta2.com

But i stopped handing a lot of that out because you know chickens used for eggs are mistreated too right?

Yeah a egg laying chickens life is about 2 years long, and consists of laying eggs in a small cramped cage, where they only have room to sit then stand.

Their life span is so short because after doing that for so many hours a day with no room to run, their bodies just fail and they die.

Quote:
Among the chickens who face the most abusive conditions are egg-laying hens - the national flock size is roughly 300 million birds. They are typically housed in battery cages that don't allow the animals enough space even to spread their wings. With no opportunity to engage in many of their natural behaviors, including nesting, dust bathing, perching, and foraging, these birds endure lives of daily frustration and suffering.

Exactly why I thought I'd share it
confused

I love eggs too, they're MAGICAL food.
So I try to buy eggs from places that I know don't mistreat their chickens.

research
D;

but I'm not the grocery shopper, so I can never remember which ones are which.
Usually, if you can find a smaller, family owned farm, they're the best to go to for well-treated animals.
