I'm auditioning for a mediocre division III. However... the audition requirements are vague. essentially they are: prepare an/a few etude/s .... vague. prepare scales(erm which ones, minors? what range, how many? our choice? etc.) prepare lead etude for lead part.... prepare for potential sight reading, dependent on the laziness of the caption head.... oh... and you have time constraints not directly mentioned X.X (trumpet)
so... I'm going to walk in and play the 08 Cavi's audition... Charecter. Study 1, Arbans. Mahler's 5th solo, Aaron copelands outddoor overture solo, i know all 12 major and 36 minor scales, cycle form for scales. and i'm playing part of Lynn Nicholson's solo in MacArthur park as played by Maynard Fergusons group for my lead etude. I'm hoping this will work....

By being vague they can ask you anything to play (along some lines) and a person really good enough to play in a drum corps should be able to play it all.
