I mean, they made Ion to replace, er, Ion. And they needed him to have certain "powers". Is reading the Score an inborn talent? What about those Daathic fonic artes and the seals on the Sephiroth?

What I'm BASICALLY wondering about is, when Anise says she wants to be the first female Fon Master... does she have a freaking chance? I mean, perhaps she sees the whole "we're not reading the score anymore" and "oh hey looks like our religion needs to change so much it might as well be a brand new one" as implication that the requirements for being Fon Master might change. Because otherwise I'd think she'd be aiming for the Grand Maestro slot.

Also, since I assume that Fon Master is a for-life position, I guess that if she DID become the new Fon Master, it would happen right away. And she would be in an excellent position to take charge, what with the whole hero-who-saved-the-world thing and being so close to Ion and all that.

Hmmm.

Anyone have any thoughts/evidence/wild speculation? xd

... Maybe it comes along with the package when she becomes the Fon Master? Though true, I'm guessing that not anyone can be the Fon Master since they had to make replicas after Original!Ion and his death. So-ho-ho, I have no idea. Maybe she has to go through heavy duty training and crap.
Oh Lord I can't think anymore, ROFL. So yeah, Maestro sounds more settled.

I am getting crazy fic ideas now xd in which Anise is trying to get some sort of power within the Order of Lorelei and running into problems. Perhaps with, like, lots of people being totally unconvinced that the world was in any danger to start with. Maybe the authorities were LYING to them about where the replicas were from and what would have happened if they hadn't lowered the outer lands into the qliphoth!!!! I mean, history is written by the victors after all- maybe these upstart heroes caused the whole thing to assist in their perfectly mundane power struggle within the church!! They aren't reading the score anymore, what will they DOOOOO!!!! We want the old Order of Lorelei back, or possibly the New Order of Lorelei!
And then the aristocracy of Kimlasca AND Malkuth, the ones who don't trust Natalia because she's Not Of Royal Blood or the ones who are irritated that some, some commoner of a military officer has the Emperor's ear, decide to try to turn that public unease into the workings of a revolution. Um, not together or anything, just happening both places at once. Um.
