Very fun movie, but upon the second watching three years later, not so amazing actually, story-wise. Still, very fun architecture and mechanical toys in it, including, and here's the tie-in, a giant mechanical spider, which Google apparently lacks in decent images of >.>

Saw this once and should rent it again to watch just to see the outfits for some new ideas.
I remember the train itself was interesting in a steamish fashion.. and kept thinking I would sooo alter Will Smiths outfits to fit me. Forgot most of the story.. but do remember the spider.

Was there ever a mechanical spider in the original series? Y'know, the one from the 60s? That might be worth looking into. The movie was complete bollocks.

That's actually rather scary. Exciting, but still scary. It reminds me of the bit in Larklight where there are giant spiders from Saturn ripping up London.

I would ride one around on an automation rampage if it was a tad bit faster and the orchestra came too.
