When I had my second guinea pig, I named him Zephyr after a character in a book I had read when I was younger. I can't remember the story, but I always loved that name. n_n

I named my cat Guenhwyvar, from the Drizzt novels by R.A. Salvatore.

It's not that I idolized the character or particularly liked the book but the name Bartholomew sort of stuck out to me in the Demonata series by Darren Shan. In the book he was a great wizard of the olden times, he now shares the same name with my blue budgie. We call him Bart for short.

You know, I've tried, but they've never let me do it. crying
Thing is, coming up with good character names for pets from the books I read is incredibly difficult. I wanted to name the dog Irene Adler but when we adopted her she'd already been named. Everything else I've tried has been thoroughly veto'd on account of "that's silly, people will laugh."
