Llune glanced at the mass of bloody fur and death, then at the elfess who had emerged and seemed to have no grief for the loss of life. Tears began to roll down the youngster's face, "So you valu only some life?!" she asked, her voice becoming ever-so-slightly shrill as her anger began to get the best of her, "You fault this creature for feeding itself, but you see no sin in killing it without purpose?!" The tears were falling hot and fast now. Llune's dislike for eating flesh wasn't the flesh itself, but the prospect of killing something, afterall. "You cannot appreciate what something is for what it is!" Llune shouts, her tiny fists clenched at her side, "And killing all that you fail to understand leaves everything barren!" This said, Llune twirls on her heel and storms into the dark woods, hurling herself forward and tripping over branches and into paches of mud, tearing her skirts as she flees tearfully, mourning for the incredible creature that was killed to produce this empty elfess. What loss!

The forest shifted and melted way. All that seemed left was young Llune in the darkness. Then it seemed light came. It wasn't a bright light but a faded light as if shining through a thin shade. From behind her Llune heard softly *Ah little snack, You shed tears for me?*

When the forest melts away, young Llune finds herself huddled on the ground, sobbing into the crook of her arm. The question causes her to pause, and slowly look up and over her shoulder to see where it came from.
**No.** The send of an adult Llune showing through the mind of the child, **I mourn for them , for not seeing... Everything...**
With this, the forest blossoms back into existence, but it's not as complete as if a wolfrider had blossomed it into existence... It's this intricate, beautiful, incredible thing still, sure, but some of the smells are missing, and some of the bugs and small game and the like are just not around. But aside from this, it's a pretty good replica of a forest, considering Llune's experience with real forests is quite limited.
**Look,** Llune says, motioning with her childish arm, **And they would shape all this flat!!** The childish simplicity is leaking back into her sends, **Can't they see? It doesn't matter what it is, because it is!**

The animal pads silently over to the young elfess and pushes it's nose against her lightly. *We cannot exists together little snack.* Now the little Llune feels arms wrap about her. "Do not cry little one. Time will roll on and days will pass. You alone will forever be. To be part of the forest, the sky, the mountains, the sand and everything this world has to offer." The arms pull away and all is quiet in the forest. Still like death. Dark like the night of the new moon. Still Llune can feel she isn't alone.

Looking about for the presence, Llune asks the dark and quiet forest, "Why? Why not together? We exist together now!" It's simple, so childishly simple, and Llune can't for the life of her understand what this frightening and furry creature is trying to get across here. "You're just as much a part of the forest the sky the mountains the sand and everything else as I could ever hope to be!"

It was here that the light started to shimmer ahead of young Llune. She could see an older male and female with a few small children. They were teaching them. Beside each child stood a wolf. Some smaller then others and some large and fearful looking. As she watched the goings on she would see the adults were teaching the youths how to make the wolf lay and sleep. For those who had smaller wolves this was an easy task and as the wolf lay and closed its eyes it got smaller. Done again and again till it was the size of a pet. The larger wolves who fought the order only got the youth with them into trouble. Scoldings and disappointment make the bigger wolves growl and the child upset. Torn between the animal they love and what must be done. "The beast must learn who is in control. Is it you or it? Are you an animal and want to live the life of a beast?" The child cries. Soft words that hold a foul meaning are still foul. Confusion and a need to belong makes the child try again to put the wolf in check. Until it is forced into submission and made to listen. Shrinking in size and will. Still there is one who will not listen no matter what the young girl tries. It might sit still and remain quiet but it never finds the ground.

Little Llune watches, not understanding any of it. Why put them to sleep to make them smaller? And, okay, if that's normal, then why is it bad trouble not to? Why the harsh words? Llune feels badly for the youngster that can not get her wolf to "behave," and deep down (and since this is a dream anyone can feel it) is rooting for the youngster to be able to stand up to scoldings and defend her beloved wolf.

It was not to be. The young girl with tears streaming down her face tried hard to command the beast. It only made the creature snap and growl at the elders who in time turned their backs on the small girl. "Until that filthy death bound creature is under control you will never be truly part of group Autumn. Your animal is wild and fills your blood with its tainted death and flesh eating ways. You are the only one who can do anything about that if you truly wish to. I guess you like being an outsider even to your own parents." The adult female caressing the girls cheek lightly as she spoke such poisonous words in such a sweet tone. "The animal does not listen because you are not strong enough to make it listen. Stronger little one. Show us the elf in you is greater."

Llune watched all this, her face growing older as the poison words were spoken. Yes. This is so familiar. That bias, the sweetness masking the cruelty. These were elves so much like... Like... The elves of the mountain.
There is a flash of light, blinding, for just a moment, and the smell of the cool air of a cave (or a tomb), and then, not-so-far-off in the distance, a mountain of deepest blue, throbbing with some sort of magical aura.
Llune watched, silently, a young woman now, and her mouth is a line.
